Then I can become filled with the bright shiny thing syndrome and get lost in answering questions and clicking on following others and not getting my work accomplished.

So I am now going to take a leaf from Steve Jobs and use his mantra of focus and simplicity. Focus is most definitely key to success. So many get distracted and try and work on multiple projects at once, which splits your time and focus, making it harder to achieve success. Take one site at a time, build it out till you start seeing results, then rinse and repeat on the next. You're off to a great start, just keep moving forward.
