Chronicles of an Affiliate: Week 2 - All I've Got is a Slingshot
And that slingshot happens to filled with content. I've completed my 2nd week with the program and I'm pleased with my progress thus far. Last week I was on a roll and set up the framework for my blogs. This week I really focused on content. I was able to write several articles and although it's still a challenge to give your take on a subject in a unique way, my thoughts are beginning to come more fluidly. I finally figured out how to link effectively in my posts, but many of the advertisers I'd like to use either denied me or have yet to respond :( Unfortunately my niche only has about 2 handfuls of advertisers with exactly what I'm looking for.
I really need to write and publish more articles with 3rd parties so that I can build upon the back linking technique. I'll be honest, backlinking is one of my biggest areas of weakness at this point. That and social networking. SPEAKING of social networking, I have to reluctantly petition you all to be my friends :) You see, I am awful at navigating these social networking sites! You have to understand: I don't FB, TWEET, STUMBLE, or anything else. Now that I am a part of WA, I see how important it is to do every one of those. So this week I signed up on reddit, stumbleupon, delicious, google+, AND pinterest. And how many friends, followers or whatever you call them do I have? Zero. Nada. Zilch. I don't even know where to begin. So that's why I'm calling out to my trustee WA community. If you're on any of those sites, look me up and help me out!
Enough with all that. As far as my completion of coursework, I've gone through Certification Course 3 but am really planning to hold off on proceeding to Course 4 (assuming that I can) until I write more content. My reasoning is that I would rather have the content there for to start gaining traffic so that by the time I put all the new info to use there is a nice quantity of articles to leverage.
If you check out my "feedback please" blog you'll find links to my sites there. Feel free to have a look and I invite any feedback that you can offer. A wealth of blessings to you all!

Just a suggestion. I'd put backlinking on the backburner. Focus on your 'slingshot' content and then definitely create your social networks ---> which is Course/Level 4!!. The social networks will suggest friends. Complete your profile. My father always told me -- input first, before you expect output. In real life, we need to initiate or contribute conversation, so I look at social in doing just that. Find your interests and comment on what strikes you. Keep on, Brooke, you are doing great!
There is a new social training course, am going to just read through. Will be glad to interface with you or answer questions. Will likely create an outline to follow. Just in case you want to take a peek: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/mastering-social-engagement
First am viewing this Wabinar video now, which should give us some added insight with live, real website reviews. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wabinar-hot-seat-live-website-reviews
It has been a totally busy circus of a weekend. How about you? ^_~1946/8/4

I shared your tall and tailored site on my FB page but I do have a note for you. You may consider giving your home page a catchy menu name because when I shared it all it said was "Home" in large letters with your main pic and the url in small gray letters. Just a thought.
