Bing could not verify ownership of this site. [Solved]

After adding my website on bing webmaster tool, I tried using the following option to verify the ownership of my site

Option 1: Place an XML file on your web server

I download the the BingSiteAuth.xml, then logged into the server using ftp. Then I confirmed, that my the link https://mywebsite.com/BingSiteAuth.xml exists and opening successfully.

Option 2: Copy and paste a tag in your default webpage

I used Yost SEO plugin and added the bing verification code on the Yoast SEO, which automatically generate verification meta tags for all pages.

But when I click on verify button for eithr of the option, I keep getting the error "Bing could not verify the ownership of this site"...

So I thought about it. What could be the reason.

Solution

With my past experience, I had a feeling this could be because of cache. And since Wealthy Affiliate uses cache extremely inorder to make the website super fast, this was it.

To solve the issue you will need to Turn off the SiteSpeed temporarily, then go to bing webmaster and click on verify. Once it is verified, you can turn on the site speed again.
