Declined affiliate program applications

Recently I have had a few affiliate applications declined. Generally no explanation is given.

I could not't figure out why this was happening so I contacted one of the program sponsored and asked if they would give me their reason.

I explained to one company that I had recently been approved by a major program in the same field as theirs and asked to be reconsidered. After checking my application, they informed me that I had submitted the application under one of my other websites and since it had little connection to their product line, they could not approve. When I asked, if they would reconsider with the appropriate website, they said they would and have since approved my site for their program.

I hadn't thought about this, but many aggregation sites (CJ, Rakutin, ShareAsale, etc.) allow you to enter several channels.

This is great, but what I didn't know was that one of those channels become the main channel and any application will go in through that channel. I inadvertently sent an application for art product supplier under my options trading channel. Duh! No surprise the art company couldn't see a connection.

When you apply for an affiliate program through the aggregtors and, if you have more than one channel listed with them, make sure you send the application under the right channel.

It will save you a lot of trouble and anxiety.

As the Awin.com and ShareASale.com representative here on WA, let me clarify something.

Both of our networks enable you to list all of your sites in your profile.

When you apply on Awin, you can select which site you are applying for in the drop down under Promotion type.

When you apply on ShareASale, just put which site you are applying for in the "Tell Us About Your Promotional Method" Box. The merchants all see that - and read it!

You also did the right thing by responding to the decline notice. The merchants get those too, and usually will reconsider your application if you've taken the time to tell them why you think you are a good fit and deserve approval.

That's great to hear. I'll be much more vigilant next time.

I just got a note back asking me to resubmit a join application.
Is there a method to do that on ShareASale? I don't see a box to click. Any thoughts???

So did you get declined by the network or by a merchant?

by the merchant.
I wrote and found I put the wrong website on the app. She asked me to re-submit the join application, but I don't see how to do that on the ShareASale site.

Go to Account > Manage/Leave Programs. Check the box to leave the program, and then you'll be able to reapply on their listing.

Thank you very much. I'll give it a go...

Hi Dan, thanks for the info, and I read most of everybody's replys.
Going to need it eventually,

We are coming out of a cold spell and looking forward to warmer days. And yes each day does seem to speed by. I spend much of my time with WA and the minutes just seems to flash by. But it is a very enjoyable way to spend my time..And yes Jeannine is a great resource for us relative newbies.
Be well and have fun.

Dan

Dan you have your name, handle, baughsten, well up the hill, and across the Hiway from Aqua Fria street, the Colbaugh family have their Turquoise store, Kingman Turquoise.
They are also the owners of The Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Mine.

Yes and there is a youtube video of that maybe under Kingman turquoise, can't remember...
Their family came up with a way to stabilize the turquoise that stays working, and whatever their process, it stays integrated.

Meaning there is not a separation of the stabilizing agent over time.
Some turquoise a plastic spot aggregates in the center of the stone. Not so if it had been given Colbaugh's treatment.

If you ever watch HSN when they are selling jewelry you might have seen a guy, Jay King selling jewelry and talking about Sleeping Beauty Mine.

Almost all gemstones are treated or heated to enhance their natural beauty or increase their durability.

Just some info from around here, the Kingman area of AZ.
Terrible windy dust storms today, gorgeous, beautiful, lovely yesterday.

Local color so to speak, and of course, that color is Turquoise,

Thank you. These little issues can take up alot of time.

Agreed. Just the simple application takes time.

Candy

Really important information . Thank you for sharing

This may have been a one-off event or two, or three, but worth considering when you try to join a program..
Thank you

That's is the reason it is really important :)

Thanks for this information. Very helpful. I will remember to check when I am applying.
