I am a happy middle-aged woman with the soul of a teenager trapped inside aging packaging!

I have done a multitude of things in life. I was a celebrated television presenter in the little Island of Malta hosting Good Morning Malta by the age of 21. I graduated from Banking School at the age of 23 having placed 10th worldwide of 10,000 global graduates.
By the age of 25 I left the comfort zone of the bank and started my very own brick and mortar business. I opened my first furniture shop called Orienta which is still a thriving business 31 years later www.orienta.com.mt and progressed to grow into a branded chain of furniture and home decor in Malta.

Sounds like an idyllic life yes? Well not exactly. I had burnout some 15 years and after a long interminable day, returning home, I lost control of my car and hit a centre strip. My pretty red Alfa Spider was a total loss - but so was my health. I fractured my back in four places and I was told that I would probably never walk again.

I started an interminable slow recovery and spent six months in the hospital on a bed without a pillow - and was never allowed to move - not even for your daily needs. A nurse would see to my needs and clean me.

I went to supercharged to a flat battery in a very short time.

Six weeks into my accident my life took another nosedive. I lost my father at age 67 to cancer. He died in the same hospital I was recovering in - two floors below me.

Six months down the line - we were sure that my spinal cord was not raptured and that with therapy I could one day walk again. So after a year of therapy and body casts and walking aids - I was finally taking steps to restore my life as I knew it.

That is when I really felt that I went from Zero to Hero.

In all this time, financially I was well set. However, my mind was constantly dwelling on the possibility that I could never walk again. I was a good entrepreneur but I needed to find a way in which I could have a career and validated from the comfort of my home.

It took me several years to actually get down to doing something about it. In the meantime, I have travelled plenty and widely. Hence my decision to take my niche into a travel blog.

I know that I am going to face tough competition - but I will not compromise on what I enjoy doing.

I am off on a new journey and this time - I am packing my computer!

Great goals Mariella,

The first step to achieving success online is to set some goals and now that you have done this you can start working towards them. Your goals are absolutely achievable and realistic. Dedicate yourself to working through the training, taking action, and getting help when you need it.

I am personally here to help you and there are many others within the community that will reach out to help too.

You are already doing great, keep it up!

Hi there! What a powerful story you have to share with those you want to help through your business. You are one mighty girl in the hands of Almighty God! I too wanted to do a Travel Blog in one of my daughters' websites but will need to put it on hold as things are taking a different turn right now... All the best and keep us posted! Paula :)

Thank you for your lovely message. It is true that it's not the best of times to be building a travel blog. To he honest I'm treating it as a great memoire. This time last year I was in Jerusalem and I'm looking through all my photos as I'm preparing to write a new post and I'm having the time of my life revisiting memory lane and sharing them 🥰

Hi, Balilux.
Paul Mindra here from Canada.
Thank you for the follow. I am flattered and accept by following you back.

I will have to get back to you because I have not fully read your profile here,

I do not even know your name.

I scrolled down to find Oliver.
He recognizes you as Mariella.

Hi Mariella.
Welcome to WA and wishing you the best of success with these great money goals. On another note, I cannot agree more on, the greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do...and the second-best pleasure you get from seeing their facial expression when you achieve it! Boom! 🎆🤩🤣

Cheers!
Olivier.

I am very pleased to make your acquaintance and would be open to learning more about you and your goals during this new journey that you have taken on.

Welcome to the community.

You have written much already.
I will look at your post "Is Money the root of all evil" after I have read your profile here.

Do you prefer Balilux or Mariella in my correspondence with you?

If you have any websites or 'Follow Me' situations, you should list them under your profile on the right.

I am pleased to make your acquaintance,

I do what others say that I cannot. I also do as those that I say I cannot what they would want me to do.

Most of the time I do what I think and say what I can do. The rest is just a brief history of time.

Kindest regards from Canada.

Paul Mindra.

Hello, Paul from Canada. What a warm and lovely reach out this is. Yes, I agree with you that my biggest satisfaction is looking back over my shoulders to watch the people who told me - I could not do it.
It is really all about mindset and investing in your education and not being afraid to go the extra mile even if it sends you reeling.
back.
Money is important, but usually, and from my experience, it only comes as a result. If it is the goal than the chances are that it will not happen. Of course, we all need money to live on, and at this time when it seems to be going very scarce again, it can be a preoccupation. However, it must not be the goal. The goal needs to be the fire in your gut, the belief in yourself, and MASSIVE ACTION.

I am Mariella... and love to be addressed by my name because it is who I really am.

Keep in touch and take care.
warm regards from grey skies in the Med.

Wow, what a journey! This was incredibly interesting to read and I went over to your business furniture website too. Great accomplishments. And then the tragedy of the car accident which I am sure is a negative experience that really impacted your life in a very positive way. I am sure that you have a lot more appreciation for what quality of life really means, the fantastic privilege of simply being alive and being able to walk. I will eagerly follow to see where this new journey is leading you to.

Kind regards
Schalk

So true. And this time is a new experience again but this time round I am facing it with a lot more calm and actually taking something good out of it. Hope the same for you.

Yes, I certainly will make a success out of this and be more successful than ever before. A lot of lessons learned along the way. I feel calm knowing that my websites are safe here at WA. My biggest concern has always been being hacked, coz I know that has the potential to destroy all your hard work of many years in literally minutes lol. So I feel calm now that I know WA is looking after the security aspect for me.
