Nobody knows what I am doing

Whenever I talk to someone about websites or design elements or anything like that, they give me a blank stare and say, "I didn't know you knew how to do that."

Most of the time I don't tell people what I am doing because I really don't want to have to do extra work at the newspaper! We're already running on pretty much a skeleton crew and some "incidents" that took place in the past have still left me feeling a bit "raw" on the emotions.

But last night, as we were talking about two more employees who will be soon heading off to what they think will be greener pastures, I said that I could use AI to create ads if I had to do it after our designer leaves.

"I didn't know you could do that..."

Yes, you can. If you can create an ad for Facebook or Google or any other platform, you can certainly create one for a newspaper. Although the mediums are different, the end result should be the same—a beautiful ad that sells a product.

I haven't tried do it yet, because, like I said, I am hoping we can hire someone to fill the role, but I can if I have to. That I do know.

I actually use a lot of things that I learn here at Wealthy Affiliate in my regular job, too. I said my boss is getting a lot of extras from me because of what I learn here!

I started a free trial of Canva pro. I found this template and thought, "With a little change, I could make this into a great newspaper ad!" (Please note: I did not make any changes to this. It is straight from Canva so I am not claiming this as my own work!)

My new way of thinking is "Don't panic until there is something to panic about!" Everyone around me seems to be in panic mode with the economy, all the mayhem and violence, the weird and dangerous weather we've been experiencing and a whole host of things. but I don't have time to panic. I've got work to do!

While I'm doing that work, I will also keep learning and using what I learn wherever I go and for whatever job I do!

So what if nobody knows what I am doing as long as I do (at least most of the time!).

Hope you all have a great and productive week!

Canva's an excellent skill to add to your repertoire, Karin. You can also use it to create pins for Pinterest as well!

While everyone else is either panicking or had their head stuck in the ground, I'm constantly sharpening my skills to stay one step ahead!

Isaiah 😁

That's because you played all those board games with your family! You learned the skills!

I am excited to delve deeper into Canva and see what I can learn. And the price is actually not that bad when you consider it by the year!

Karin

As long as I’m pulling in $100,000 a year, as a self employed individual, I don’t care what people know about my skills.

LOL! Thanks Brad! I'm not even at that point and I don't really care either!

Karin

Right on target, Karin!

99.6% of the world has no clue about what we do, much less understand it. But that's okay, we have WA where people DO understand it. Here we can support each other, encourage each other, and celebrate together when we reach our goals.

And you're right, no need to panic! There's so much great stuff ahead!

There is so much great stuff ahead! Yes!

Hoping you have a great week!

Hi Karin

Applying what we learn makes it all worth while. 😎

Frank 🎸

Yes it does, Frank! And there is so much to learn. As long as I learn at least one new thing every day I feel the day was a success! When I can learn 5-10 new things in a day...Well ... that's just a typical day for me...LOL...It seems there are a lot of things out there that I know nothing about!

Karin

You and me, both, Karin. 😎

Frank 🎸

Isn't it great that we have the capacity to learn so much? I love learning!

Karin

We're lifetime learners, Karin! 👍👍😎

Sometimes it's best to keep things close to the vest. You never know what skills you'll learn here that can be of value in many aspects of life. Have a good one, Karin!

Susan

Susan, you sure have that right. So many of the things I learn here are applicable in so many ways and in so much of my life. That is the part I want to share with others—this isn't just a place to learn how to make a website—it is how to make so much more.
