Changing Niches

So I was having troubles coming up with ideas for posts on my website, even with the training. Maybe it was a poor niche?

Let me know if you have any ideas to help out... comfymedscrubs.com is my website about comfortable medical scrubs. I work in the healthcare industry and thought that wearing comfortable scrubs and footwear is important. It is important to me anyway, but I can't really seem to find anything to blog about.

Either way, I set out to find a new niche.

Not that I was giving up on my first website, but I needed to see some progress for the moment.

My new website, momskorner.com, was born. After going through the training up to level 3 on my first website, it seemed like a breeze setting up and building content for my new niche.

I love baking, cooking, smells, flavours, eating. All of it, even licking the bowl! So did my mother-in-law. She had her own restaurant when she was younger (like 20 some years ago), called Mom's Korner. How excited was I when I searched the domain name and it was available? So very excited!

She shared with me some of her family recipes, and her tips and tricks at holiday time when it came to the dressing, gravy, getting the potatoes lump free when you are mashing them...I like to think that she is standing beside me when I am working in the kitchen, bustling about.

This new website seems to be doing well, I am progressing through the lessons and am now back again at lesson 3. Wish me luck!

I think, things like this happen when people picked a niche that's too narrow, they sometimes run out of new ideas to blog. But still, if you are creative or imaginative, you still can think of new ideas.

But anyway, good decision of yours.

After hitting a wall in my niche (make money online), I realized how tough the wall is, and my competitors are so damn good I can't dislodge them out. Some of which are WA members, too. So, I what I did was, changed niche like what you did.

I can relate, actually with my second website I got totally stuck in a rut and didn't work on it for a bit - but then I realised a way I could change direction and make it easier to write about other things. Maybe there is a way you can do that, bring another element into it. It is so important to come up with new content and that can be really tricky with a narrow niche. Keep going with them both though I think. :)

Choose something you're comfortable doing.

I think both can work just ,, still worth keeping

Good for you. You can always keep digging away at the first site if you've a mind to. But best of luck on your new one. Good luck to you

Sounds like you made the right choice switching. I like original idea though. I would imagine you could market alternatives to crocs for your medical scrubs site.
