WHO IS A DREAM STEALER?

Ever met someone who, when you share a dream you have with them, makes you feel as though you just shouldn't have bothered. They can be very sneaky about treading on your dreams, as they have had lots of practice and would hate for you to think badly of them.

Well, that's what they would have you believe. So called, well-meaning comments such as;

• Are you sure you can do this?
• Sounds risky to me
  
• You know, you've tried a lot of things
  
• Not another one!
  
• You could lose money
  
• It seems to take up a lot of time
  
• You don't need the money
  
• Do you want to be a salesman?
  
• You don't have any experience in business
  

Or even that look! Nothing said, just sad eyes of disbelief and horror.

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO STEAL YOUR DREAM?

There is really only one answer to this that I have found, INSECURITY!

If you succeed than you will make them look bad. Maybe they tried to break free and have a business once and failed. Perhaps, if you succeed you won't need them anymore to pay the bills. You might want to go traveling or move to another country and that wouldn't suit them.

ARE YOU A DREAM STEALER?

• Do you think of all the negatives before the positives
  
• Are you the first one to say, 'It could be a scam.'
  
• Do you withhold encouragement and praise for little successes
  
• Are you annoyed by little problems and blow them up to be big ones?
  
• Do you get grumpy when the people around you have dreams?
  
• Dream stealers want all your time for themselves, that's fair right?
