10 Months Progress Report - Is Wealthy Affiliate worth it?
Hey WAers!
It has been awhile since I've been active in WA. I've been busy with life as I'm working full-time and studying 2 very intensive courses part-time. *Kicking my own butt for getting myself into that mess* I thought 5 months ago my schedule was bad enough but now my schedule is EVEN CRAZIER!
Since my last update, I have been working on a couple of things for my online business which I won't have time to write about. *SUPER interesting stuff though ;)*
Since this is my progress report for my WA site, I will talk about that first. 5 months ago I had 16 blog posts and 8 pages. Now I have 23 blog posts and 8 pages. I wrote 7 posts in 5 months. Not a lot I know but it's the best I could do. My organic traffic was 120 clicks per month (30 days) 5 months ago. Now my organic traffic (from Google) is...
TADAH! 222 clicks for 28 days! I'm pretty happy with this increase since I did minimal work for my site.
Referrals wise... It's increasing and I've been getting commissions every month. *super cool!* I believe that when I provide value on my site, referrals would be pretty natural. I just gotta keep going and push through! I've learnt that affiliate marketing really takes time and you have to treat it as a business, NOT a get quick rich scheme. When you have laid a good foundation for your website (this site only uses strategies from WA), you will reap the benefits over time.
Like I have advocated in the previous progress report, treat this as a brick and mortar business and give it time. Truthfully, I have been here for 1 year and 9 months but wasted tons of time. 11 months to be exact because of my work and studies + self-doubt with niche sites I ditched. However when I buckled down with my WA site, with just 10 months of work, I am reaping some rewards for my hard work.
I'm thankful I turned yearly a few months after joining WA. That helped me keep on track and kept me going. Also, I gave myself 1 year to try it out. So if you are serious about making an income online, give yourself a year at least. *remember brick and mortar business*
Just a heads up, I believe that Black Friday is in November. Use that opportunity to commit to this endeavour for a year at a good discount. So if you are self-doubting, my best advise is to keep moving! It is never too late. If you are 8 months in WA and you don't see results or have not done anything at all, no worries, KEEP GOING. It took me 11 months of nothingness before I started work on my site! *ARGH... I need to change my job* And I'm finally getting my groove for affiliate marketing. In fact, I have 3 writers working for my sites now.
So what predicts achievement in people who succeed? I believe that this is true...
"Duckworth boiled these two characteristics down to a quality she called “grit,” defined as “the perseverance and passion for a long-term goal,” and set about testing it as a predictor for outstanding achievement."
I hope this is another encouraging post to keep you going. Not the most glorious but I'm glad to receive the monthly commissions from WA for the past few months. Hopefully providing value to my referrals too!
Share with me what you think after you have read this post! :)
Cheers, Jane
P.S.: To my referrals, I may be busy but will ALWAYS be available to help you out. Just drop me a message! I do have the knowledge but have no time to apply it! :)
P.P.S.: To other WA members, you can still message me if you need help. I'll try to best to help you too.

Thanks for the motivation Jane. Like yourself, I'm pushed for time with F/T employment and two kids around my ankles. I've been here since December last year but am only now about to have my first site up and going. Loving the community though...
