My progress thus far!
Well, I have been with WA for over a month now, have gone Premium, then Yearly because I see the value in having a community and learning platform like this one. I have been working tirelessly on my website, getting little sleep, but have really been enjoying creating and sharing what I know.
My website is really starting to come along. I am writing in a niche that is a hobby of mine, cake decorating, and I am loving getting to bake and create things for my site. I recently posted about what you can do with melted chocolate and I learned that there is such a thing as chocolate covered potato chips. Gross, right?! Wrong! It is actually pretty good.

I would LOVE feedback and comments on any of the posts or about the website itself. I know it might not be much yet, but I am working hard to continue adding what I can at a good pace.
I think one of the hardest things to understand in all the training is about adsense and how to add it to posts or not have any at all. I still can't figure it out and I feel like that might be halting my progress, though I have just moved on anyway. It is kind of the same with the social media icons, I can get them on there, but not where I want them and if I use the one Kyle suggests, I am missing Pinterest and for my niche, that button is probably the most important. I am using another widget instead of the one Kyle suggests but that one is causing me all the problems.
Other than that, I think things are going really well, though I do wish I could get more of a following outside of WA. Not that I don't appreciate everything WAer's. :-) I need to figure out how to add the email list thing on my site so people can start subscribing and figure out how to get that facebook thing on the side where it shows who has signed up through facebook.
So, much to do, much to do, but not enough time in the day to do it all. I know it takes time, so I am just trying to go at a good pace, but I have a deadline of 1 year to prove to my husband that this investment was worth it.
I have, so far made $1.40 and I think THAT even surprised my husband, but I would like to see that $1.40 in my first month, be at least $1,400.00 a month by the end of the first year.

I know you were helping me with a link problem a few weeks ago and I figured out that I was trying to link a widget link from amazon to a picture, so of course that wouldn't work. But I got it figured out and I wanted to thank you for your help before. This community is definitely worth it's weight in gold. :-)

Your $1.40 reminds me of my first £0.96 - and it will grow believe me, although I have been at it a while now, that £0.96 now generates around 6k monthly - and I still do it part time!
I have just looked at your site, and WOW, the look and feel is awesome, and I would think that you would have no trouble in building this into an authority site in your niche.
Keep doing what you are doing,and as you add more pages, the income will start to flow
I wish you every success, and hopefully your husband will want to start 'CakeDecoratingDad when he sees the results!

Paul, that made me laugh! CakeDecoratingDad is a hilarious idea.
My husband actually does woodworking as a hobby/business and after I have my site up and running for a while and I have a little more time, I will be starting work on his site. Yes, I will be the mastermind behind it because he is not the most tech savvy, but he does some beautiful woodwork. I will just have to start utilizing his knowledge and my research and writing skills to help build that site into something successful.
The dream is for him to quit his job and open his woodworking business full time and we make an hearty income from the websites so he doesn't have to bust his back working so hard for "the man" for the rest of his life.
