If you saw a bridge that said CROSS AT YOUR OWN RISK, would you?

Would you?

So yesterday I was on another one of my fabulous day adventures. And riding around the mountains its always a bit of surprise as to what might just pop up.

But I was on a mission to find this sanctuary where I could spend the day in quiet meditation.

.

I drove though really windy mountainous roads. You know the ones where you don't want to admit its a white knuckle drive? No barriers and a long fall .. yeah? Get the picture?

And it was also a glorious day, high sunshine, no wind, the views were spectacular.

As I got closer to this sanctuary , the roads again changed. IN fact, would you really call it a road or a path? I mean they are no longer paved? What would you call it?

Well let's call it a widened path LOL. And for some reason there was not a lot of things in bloom up this high.

But then all of a sudden beautiful purple flowers lined one side of the path.

And my energy started tingling..ohh this is going to be magical indeed. I felt this huge grin start spreading on my face.. and thought i am so close to getting there.

And indeed maybe 2 minutes later. I am at my destination.

And here is the story, ready?

Yeah, you have to cross a bridge to get into this sanctuary.

Umm, let's say it is being very generous in calling it a bridge.

There is a sign that says, "CROSS AT YOUR OWN RISK".

Hmm, what to do?

Park my car at the side of this side and walk across?

Or really drive across?

So let me give you a visual here.

It is nothing more than planks across a large rocky creek. And there are no guard rails, no side rails.. nothing that would give a person a sense of comfort.

In fact the planks on the bridge are so well worn that they have warped and are turning up at the ends. Oh yeah, you can laugh.

And the width of this umm bridge.. is barely wide enough for a car.

So Dear Amazing Community, what would you do? Park your car or drive across?

And it dawned on me, this is the perfect metaphor for our lives, isn't it?

I mean how I do my business at Wealthy Affiliate is dependent on how much I am willing to get out of my comfort zone, yes?

And each time I have shown myself that I am capable of doing even more, I am rewarded with this wonderful sense of accomplishment.

So what if crossing this bridge is exactly like how we run our businesses?

We see the fear, and we do it anyway?

So what do you think I did?

Yup, I drove across that bridge knowing that the Unvierse had my back and that my fear is only as big as I allow it to be . Isn't that right?

And you know what?

Was easy peasy!

So what kind of bridges are we all crossing each day?

And what choices are we making?

Well we know the answer to that, don't we?

We are Wealthy Affiliate.. We rock and we are on the NOW plan!

So let me know about your experiences please!

Hi Ariel,

My first thought is "no, I cant cross the bridge" I am cautious at heart.
But you got me thinking when you said "We see the fear, and we do it anyway? " Here at WA I have had to take a leap of faith in creating something that is so foreign to me, because normally this is something I would never do.
I have learned through WA that I can, as long as I don't give up.
So now I think I will look at fear in a slightly different way. Thank you Ariel for sharing your outlook, it has made me rethink. I think that is a good thing....yes?

Irene

Yay you Irene! You are so right. And its just our thoughts that hold us back. And we are not our thoughts.. so anytime we are leaping we are jumping into our own hearts of truth. And I know you are doing fabulously! So happy for you. It is a great thing Irene! And fear is only how we choose to perceive it..if we choose not to give it life.. it no longer exists.

I’ve witnessed people that have never crossed the bridge in their lives, a life of dreams that are never going to happen - dreaming for their retirement so they can have the holiday of their dreams and something happens to prevent that!

Me, I’ve been a positive dare devil in comparison! I have seen the same people over and over, boring boring!

If we don’t expose ourselves to knew things, things don’t change!

It’s balance again.

Wealthy Affiliate is a superb environment but even WA would not condone you dedicating all our time to it.

The results will come when the balance is right.

Another member just posted about not preferring not to have sleep - again just balance.

Keep the equilibrium - it’s essential in my view.

Wayne

Thank you!

Wayne

I hear you Wayne and thank for this.. it is true we do need to keep the balance of our own systems..whatever that might be.. and hold that truth for our own health and well being.
And for sure..who wants boring?? I know that you as an adventurer have incredible stories to tell.
Hope you start to tell them
Thanks as always for being here.

You are so right !

I have been a silent reader for a long, long time. And social media was never my thing. Now, I am out of my comfort zone. Trying to share more. I have to do what's have to be done. We have to build bridges, to climb the ladder of success.

Ahh Sharon.. so well said. and when we do it..amazing things happen..we feel ourselves truly opening up to new heights and ability, yes? You go girl!

Thanks Ariel, That is great content and yes we do all need to get out of our comfort zone. I know I tend to be a quiet person and with blogging, participating in the community at WA and commenting and running a group on facebook I am way out my comfort zone but adjusting a really enjoying it.

And that is exactly it.. we get beyond our own zones and discover that life is so far beyond what we could have even imagined. I am so happy to hear you are enjoying all of this. keep it up. you are doing so great! Yay you!

Thanks I am trying to do the best I can.

Oh yes, I would most definitely cross that bridge and any other bridge that stood in the way of achieving my goals. Yes, you're absolutely right, Ariel. We do this every day here at Wealthy Affiliate and in so many other ways too.

I'm an adventurer, so yes, I would take that windy road and cross the shaky, narrow bridge any day.

Lovely, lovely post, my friend.

All the best,
Sue

Ahh Sue, thank you dear friend. Yup I thought you might say that. And yes to success for us all. After all .. a narrow bridge is just a narrow bridge.

I have crossed many shaky bridges In my long life so far, and yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, it just another shaky bridge, and if its standing, I figure I have a very good chance of making it. If I don't make it, I will be instantly in Heaven with my Maker, and it doesn't get any better than that.

Life is good then.huh Rick? thank you

Life is not whether you win or loose, but how you play the game. I have for many years lived by Shakespeare's poem, "This above all, to thine own self be true, and it must follow as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man!" Life is what you make it, and as for me, sometimes its good and sometimes it isn't. The reason for that is that everyone doesn't live by Shakespeare's poem.

Really loved your post, Ariel. Your narrow, winding mountain road sounds just like the one I drive every time I leave my mountain retreat. And your bridge looks amazingly familiar. It resembles the footbridge over my creek outside my kitchen door. You are right, it
is a very good metaphor for our WA journey. I would park and walk across the bridge, but I WOULD MAKE IT! (not yelling...just don't know how to do bold on this platform!) Let's all cross that bridge out of our comfort zones in our own way and move on with our WA futures! Carol

Ah that space sounds lovely Carol. And as long as we cross, that is what matters, yes? So like your wish. indeed out of our comfort zones we go! thank you.

Yes, it's gorgeous. And you're right. It doesn't matter how we cross...tiptoeing or charging across, as long as we get there!

Life is a connection to many bridges running in all directions and there is always a risk of not making it to your destination, that is why you have to take control and have a clear plan to get to where you want to be! Also, to know the difference between trying and doing will help you move more efficiently on your journey.
All the best,
Marcus

So well said Marcus.. thank you! You are so right trying or doing. or as Bo Tipton always tells us.. there is no trying there is only doing.

Hi Ariel, Lovely story!...Thanks for sharing....Before I got to the end of the story, I said to myself, 'I hope she crosses that bridge' as it was you did, & the end of your story was EXACTLY what I had in my mind...crossing that bridge in W.A.....

Take care..

GinsO

Thank you so much for rooting for me! Means a lot! Great minds think alike. LOL. so glad you are here.

Wow Ariel!

This is such an excellent and metaphor my Friend, You have inspired me in just the right moment as I was thinking about a nap.

I now will not nap as I am at the bridge of the day and my sanctuary is in plain view across the "bridge" that spans across the large rocky creek.

Thank you so much my Friend,

Tony

Wow I inspired Tony Hamilton?? whew! What a compliment. Thank you sir! So how did this new bridge go for you? Hope your sanctuary is always all that you need . thanks for being here.
