I am so afraid of failing. I don't know if any of you is brave enough to say that you are not afraid of failing.

I learned that fear is something that you have to face. Do not let it hold you back but rather use it to push forward.

Unfortunately, I found myself time after time that fear of failure freeze me. It managed to stop me even before I tried anything.

Analysis paralysis is most of the time the cause of it. I always analyse things thoroughly but after that, even the smallest risk hindered me from trying anything at all.

Regret is the second place in the cause of fear. Many times I didn't finish a project. Mostly because I encountered troubles. I asked myself why did I bother to start this. This trouble was too overwhelming. I didn't ask how I am going to overcome this. I know that because of this fear, I let go a lot of good opportunities in the past.

How to overcome the fear of failure?

1. Stop over-analyze things. If you have all the information needed to back you up, just jump out of the plane. Get your feet wet. Do not get frozen again.

2. Do not regret. I will not regret any decisions I will make again. I know that if I don't make a decision, it is a decision itself. I rather decide to move forward and make something than just stay frozen. Staying frozen will guarantee a 100% failure anyway.

I will admit that this mission statement is TOO SCARY for me.

I will put my foot ahead, one step at a time. Opportunities will be visited by me, moving forward. I just can't stand idle anymore and hope that opportunities will come.

The thing about fear of failure, if you don’t use it to your advantage as a motivator, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
