Commenting On Wealthy Affiliate Blogs

A few ago I reached the Wealthy Affiliate training lesson that advises to use the comments section of the platform.

To tell you the truth, this is one of the most amazing features that I like within WA, and as a member of this community since July last year (2022), I would love to see things at their best.

I have been fortunate to have been for the last 13 years part of community building as well. I am a co-founder of a Global Citizen Platform trying to develop a society based on universal values and the idea of Global Citizenship.

Therefore, I know how it feels when people are working very hard on so many fronts, and comes someone preaching how things should be done without contributing any real effort in the development.

This is my first blog in which I will talk about areas of development with WA, but I don't think it is going to be my last.

The Real Reason

The real reason behind wanting to write these blogs is not to complain, but rather to shed light on areas of improvement.

I like this community, knowing that each organization/community/being has its strengths and has its areas for potential improvement.

I hope that such articles are taken as my way of contributing positively to the WA community and not as senseless criticism.

I don't have online business, online technical, blogging, etc, experience. Therefore, I am not able to help the community in these areas.

I know business strategy, business process, and have some analytical skills. I am going to use those either.

I started giving back to the WA community through site feedback and answering questions that I know I have answers to, but the best method that I really enjoy is by writing comments on articles.

Interests Section

I was really happy to find that there was a way to list my interests, and based on those I will get to write comments on articles that are within my interests.

This part got me really excited. I know that the best way to really learn something and make it stick is by explaining it to others. Therefore, giving comments is like a two-way helping street.

Another area that was great within the interests is the number of interests mentioned. I was glad the number and the diversity of the list is substantial and is not limited neither by number nor by scope.

The Experience

I jumped right ahead to discover the comments section of the WA platform. I was very happy and didn't mind getting websites that were out of my list of interests.

Then I started getting articles that I have no clue about. If I ignored them, it will seem as if I am picking and choosing in terms of the percentage. On the other hand, writing comments on such articles seems very Hippocratic, and I don't feel that I am giving any value added to the owner of the website and the author of the article.

Day by day, the articles that were out of my interest and out of the scope of my knowledge became the norm and it became a rare occasion when getting an article within the list of interests that I mentioned.

A Suggested Solution

I know that it is not easy to always offer articles within the interests. Many days might pass without being able to provide an article within the selected interests. This will cause many other challenges including members not being able to gather credits to request comments.

What I would suggest is to include an option that says that this is not within the list of interests, of course this needs to go back and check if this claim is true or not. If true then pass, if not true then either comment or ignore.

In this case the ignore is justifiable if the program found that the article is actually within the list of interests. From quality control perspectives, I know there are many scenarios that need to be worked out by programmers including people who would de-list the item, ignore, and then list it back.

Conclusion

I hope this issue with the comments section of the platform gets improved. This is a great section, and for me it is a great way to give back.

It is also one of the ways that gets everybody's articles moving dynamically and increases the interaction in a way that would attract google to our websites.

I hope that the point mentioned in this article is taken into consideration and solved within a good timeline.

Sitecomment is indeed a great option that we enjoy at WA and it helps tremendously with the search engines. I think choosing your interest is just something that helps us be aware of the availability and also not waste time in choosing among the posts what we want. It is useful

Yes absolutely, this is it, it is not only useful, I think it is crucial. What I am saying is that the backend utilizes this input in getting websites that are within the interests that I have chosen.

Currently, most of the websites that come my way to comment on are on topics that I have no clue about, and I can hardly write something of added value.

Personally I like that aspect as it pushes me to learn something new. I usually take time to go through the website in order to understand which I don't always do, but it's fun 😊....and when I don't understand, I just pass

Yes, I really enjoy reading things that I don't about, but it is the writing and commenting of something of value that concerns me.

But reading more into what you said, maybe it needs a little bit more time of thinking of something, and not to be too sticky about not wanting to pass. hahahaha

Hi - as far as I am aware, the purpose of choosing an interest, is so that you can be notified by email, if one is available.

However, if you go directly to the Site Comments feature, then your interests are not taken into account.

It's simply, the luck of the draw, what type of niche you will be offered.

In my case I am thankfully not getting any emails, but what I am suggesting is that the backend to utilize this data in a better way so that we get websites that we can comment on.

I am currently getting websites on topics that I don't have any information about to the point that I cannot even ask a genuine question.
