My first 60 days

- Practice discipline
.
- Write, write, write
- Never stop learning
- Save your drafts often
- Take action
I've put together a couple websites at this point and am proud to have made it this far. My first niche marketing site, streamyourmedia.org is all about how to take full advantage of digital content providers like Hulu, Netflix and Spotify. My other site, eightyp.com is more for personal fulfillment than anything else. It has a personal blog and links to streamyourmedia but not much else right now.
Any comments about my sites are welcome. I'd certainly love any constructive criticism, as I am INTENT on making a career out of internet marketing.

Very good points! The danger of waiting until you are perfect is that you may be dead before you get started. I know. I have the same problem! :>)
Awesome points Andy. I think this is going to put many things into perspective. The last point, taking action is the one point that I think most people completely miss, whether this is out of the fear of failure (not doing anything at all is the biggest failure of all) or they have become serial readers and not do'ers over the years.
Nice work on the sites!
For me the lack of action historically was because of a perfectionist nature... I always want to make sure things are perfect before I make them ready for people to see. What I've realized from the training here is that it doesn't have to be perfect. Really, if you wait until it's perfect you'll never accomplish anything.
BTW, I was just mentioning to my fiancee about the best thing (to me) about WA: those who have been successful in IM don't just have non-active memberships here. They are truly out to help the entire community get where they need to be.
Thanks for proving my point! =)
Yeah, that is definitely another one and something I have talked about here on numerous occasions. People tend to think they know what "perfect" is (jeez we are silly), when in actuality nothing is perfect and you strive closer to perfect by doing something more often.
The only people that can ever tell you whether or not you are nearing perfection is your audience/customers. :)
Lots of help here and we plan on keeping it this way. There is no reason that those who achieve success cannot help others achieve the same thing. There is enough room for everyone in this vast world we call the Internet!
I agree with never stop learning....whether it is about your niche, content writing, new information regarding internet marketing.
or really, any endeavor in life, period. In this age where information moves SO FAST it's critical to stay on the cutting edge.
Save your drafts often, now that is a great tip, lol. been there too many times.,You get writing and forget to save and BAM, it disappears, lol
I believe it's something we've all dealt with at some point, and it's never fun. Hopefully my tip will help people to realize that periodic saving is super important!

Hi,
I thought I would just write a note in regards to Google Doc's. Sign up for a google account and select from the top search bar >more, than select>> even more (this will give you a listing of other Google Products), and then select >>Docs. Once your in the Google Docs you can create word documents, spreadsheets, slide show presentations. With Google Docs it saves every character. You will not lose the last hours work. Also if you computer crashes you can access these documents through other computers. If by accident you have not back up your written work for sometime, you will still have access to these documents through other sources.
You do seem to be getting a good grasp of things within your first sixty. It's a great place to learn.
My solution is quite similar... I type all my blog posts in Word and save them to my hard drive.
For some reason I prefer to use a word processor on my computer over Google Docs. It provides some benefits, but sometimes I get stuck in my ways =).
