Survived Hurricane Matthew!

I told the WA community support system that I would type something on Monday if we had survived through the hurricane that tore through the Caribbean Islands, and up the coast of Florida, then Georgia, and made landfall just 114 miles away from my home in South Carolina, so we got about 70-90 mile an hour winds throughout the evening of Friday Oct. 7, until the noon time hour on Saturday Oct. 8.......

ONLY 4 trees fell on our property, our house was safe, our cars were safe and our children and grandchildren were safe also. So the only thing that happened was that we lost power for about 41 hours at our house, and my husband and youngest 10th grade daughter who still lives with us realized that electricity isn't a luxury ANY MORE, but a NECESSITY in today's society!! So I'm FINALLY able to blog to everyone that we are all safe and sound in the Bridges family!! And NONE of us in the WA community should take for granted all of the things, abilities, jobs, money, stuff, and loved ones that we have NOW, because it could ALL be taken away in the blink of an eye or the wind of a hurricane!!!

That's great. Good that it turned out to sea before reaching the heart of the Carolinas.

Happy that you're safe.

That calls for a celebration! Thank God you're all safe there. :)

So happy you are safe!
:)

Glad you are all OK. Thanks for sharing

So glad you all are okay! Still praying for all affected by Matthew!

You are welcome for the update!! Whew - thank goodness we survived, unlike the poor country of Haiti and the Bahamas.....
But God is still in charge of Earth, and He will help those in need when they call on Him!! We are so grateful for all of our blessings FOREVER!!

Amanda - Glad to hear that you and your family survived with just a little discomfort and inconvenience. THAT's a good thing!

Yes and as the hurricane blows out to sea and the skies turn blue its time for reflection on what is important in this life. Happy that Grandma and Grandpa made it through ok, thanks for sharing.

Glad you are safe, have a great week
