What Ripple Affects Are You Creating?
Here's a little food for thought that really got me thinking. Every week, every day and hour you're doing certain things. It could be working really hard on a project, doing something at work, having dinneror even just sitting down to watch TV. Every moment you're alive, you're making a decision, and doing something.
Life is basically a compilation of small decisions followed by actions. A sequence of small individual choices...and each choices adds up to a now. In other words, those small decisions you make up your current reality good and bad.
Putting it another way, your current reality today was made up of the small decisions you took yesterdays ago. Like dropping a stone into a pool of water, your decisions at any given moment always have a ripple affect on you and others around you, tomorrow.
We can't change the past, but we can change our tomorrows by making better decisions right now. They don't have to earth shattering ones either, but rather small babysteps that are easier to swallow. It's those little "now" moments that stack up.
Now is all we've got, right? So ask yourself...What is tomorrow's reality that you are creating through your actions right now? It could have been your decision to stay on the couch while watching TV last night, instead of getting on the floor and doing a set up sit ups, leg lifts and planks. Or the blog you didn't bother writing, helping yourself to a second serving, or watching mindless TV instead of attending that webinar or finishing the video course.
Each of those now's add up and become your reality today. How have those small decisions contributed to where you are today?
It's something worth thinking about, isn't it? It can be a real eye-opener. At least it was for me which is why I'm sharing it with all of you! When I realized that every choice I make today is pointing me in some direction tomorrow...it makes me think more carefully about those small decisions I make on the fly.
So let me ask you, will your small decisions today, serve to advance your progress tomorrow? When you look at your actions and the things you are doing in that series of now's that we are all living, what reality are you actually creating?
Obviously, it doesn't mean we never deviate. But it does mean that you can be more intentional about it. The first step is to identify which past decisions could have been better and how they are currently affecting you today. For instance, those small decisions to stay on the couch watching TV probably affects your health today.
What small "automatic" decisions have you taken over the past few days that are affecting you today? Where can you change?

This is an inspiring post Ann. I've been aware of the ripple effect for many years now and it is quite fascinating to track these waves.
I recently had a small ripple create a wonderful opportunity that I had wanted in my music, that was a two year old ripple. It really does work.
Create some good waves in your life.
Thanks for sharing your positive thoughts
