Embedding Instagram into your Wordpress site!
My niche involves a lot of nail polish - so I needed a way of adding new content without me always having to paint my own nails to do it! So I set about looking at how Instagram could help me.
Networking first - I have permission from all of the nail artists that I use on my site so far as I don't wish to get into any kind of legal battle over intellectual property!
So without further ado, here is the simple way to embed someone else's instagram post into your wordpress site without a plugin!
Wordpress block editor
You will first need to open the wordpress block editor in order to do this. So you can log in whichever way you would usually do this - I tend to log in from the Wealthy Affiliate platform and then click on posts.
I will be using a post I haave already edited for this so I have my title and text ready to go!
Add a new block
Nice and easy, press enter and it tells you to type/choose a block. You need to click the black plus to the right of that block.
Broswse all blocks
Nice and simple! You are going to scroll down and look for the 'Widgets' section. Click the block called custom HTML and it will add the block for you, as you can see from my image above, it now begins to show up in my recent blocks.
To Instagram!
I am using my own post here as although I do have permission for atists on my site, I am not sure if I do here! So for safety I am embedding from my own page but the process is exactly the same.
So click the post you want to embed and find the three dots to the top right of the post. Once you click that you will get the image below. Next you will need to click embed.
Copy the link
You will then be given a link, first you need to uncheck 'include caption' when I did this it took to long and would not load the image. Then click the blue button and it will automatically copy the code for you.Almost there!
Back to wordpress and simply paste the code into the block that it gave you.
Finally I press preview to check that the code actually worked!
And voila... a clicked through link to the instagram post and autimatic recognition for your artist network!
Happy embedding!
I have since deleted that particular instagram post in my blog but further down in my blog I have embedded 4 seperate posts to 3 different artists nice and simply!
Good luck embedding instagram posts yourself and please do let me know how you get on or if you have any further questions!

Very intriguing, Anna! I've never done a training here in WA--yet--but you might explore the possibility of making this a WA training module too!
Jeff
I will look into it, however I don't think I have been premium for one full month yet let alone 3 so I will leave it as a blog for the time being - excited to turn it into training when I can though!
Yes, I forgot about that, Anna, but I know you will likely do this when the window opens! It will be a GREAT help to many here, and as Diane says, you will make a little money too!

The longer I am committed to this journey the better it gets! An opportunity to earn a little bit of money is always worth it too! I feel like if I carry on the way I am, I can end up earning in more than one way rather than just my niche website!!! It is weird and fun =D
Thank you for sharing how to embed Instagram in a WordPress post.
You have very nicely explained and illustrated with the results. Thanks for taking the time to do this for us all.
Hi - when you have been a premium member for 3 months, you can create training modules, and be paid for them. This would be ideal to turn into training.
You don't earn much, but every little helps!
This is a great outline for embedding instagram. I think it might work for other similar platforms. Thanks.
I have yet to try it for others as it seems to be easier, but I will give it a go later and get back to you!
