What a wonderful community! Quite unexpected, honestly.

I am a new member, I have only been here a few days but I felt the need to share my experience.

I am a professional animal trainer and love what I do. But as of a few months ago, I started taking a break so that I could stay at home with my son. I am a new mom and really didn't want to leave my baby in someone else's care yet. I am very lucky to be able to spend every day of his first months with him. Thats the great part.

The not so great part, is that my savings are dwindling fast. I never thought I would want to be a stay at home mom because I LOVE my work. But right now, I just want to be with my son as much as possible. So I started looking into ways to make money online.

As I searched, I saw scam after scam after scam. I am a very bright girl, and can spot all of those too good to be true offers without even diving into it. Even good opportunities I probably miss because I am way to skeptical.

- For example, a few hours ago I got a call from a number that said Jamaica (I am in the US) and although I normally don't answer strange numbers, curiosity got me so I answered. "Congratulations! I am calling on behalf of the Publishers Clearing House to let you know that you have won!" First of all, are they even still around? And second, I imagine I would have to actually enter some contest to win. But I am polite, and curious of how this guy is going to try to play me, so I let him talk. He asked "So how do you feel now that you know you have won 3 million dollars and a brand new car?!" My answer was along the lines of "I am very doubtful and waiting for you to tell me what you want me to pay for." And he hung up, haha. I'm sure most of you reading would also be on the same page as me, but my dear Mom would have fallen for it and probably given her credit card number. ::sigh::

Anyway, after combing through ads and job opportunities I decided to stick with what I know instead. Although I can't make appointments to help clients in their home, I already know what they need. So I just need to offer it to them a different way, online. As busy as people's schedules are, I am sure the convenience will suit a lot of clients.

I wanted to have a blog on various animal topics as well as videos of dog training courses. So I started my journey on researching how to make make a profitable business online. I was following bits of advice from different sites as I was building my website. I came across an issue that I found information on, but had a bad feeling about what I was reading on multiple sites. I needed someone live to talk to!

I found information on John Chows program, and although it was not a live person, it seemed cram packed full of good information. However, being skeptical, I immediately started searching for reviews on him or reports of a scam. It seemed his basic program for under $50 was worth checking out, although it was slightly outdated so newbies would have to continue to do additional research. (No problem, either way I would still plan on learning things other places as well!) But there was another program that he was associated with that was reported a total ripoff. They guaranteed that you would make xxx$$$ and if not they would pay you $500! No worries! And then once you are in they drop that you have to buy some license and pay $2000 or some ridiculous amount, and its too late to back out, and they don't pay you the 500 they promised because you didn't follow the steps.... yea so I decided to stay away from that shady mess!

But still needed advice! On one of the blogs that reviewed John Chow, the author mentioned Wealthy Affiliate and how it was similar to John Chows program but WAY better, more up to date and full of help. Although it was more expensive. But you can start out for free!

So in my mind I thought it was perfect, I would come check it out and ask the question that I needed live help on. Maybe spend a few days on here and then peace out before someone tried to get me to upgrade.

Well well well... 3 days into it and I signed up for a premium membership! I was not planning on it, I was actually against the idea. I am a stay at home mom with money that is fading away, I don't need to spend, especially on something thats reoccurring. I planned on investing in a few domain names, hosting and a few small things to get my business going.

But when I got here, not only did I get the answer I was looking for, I got advice from so many different people. My first few days here saved me from making a very expensive mistake! So many people welcomed me with personalized messages, including one of the creators of the site. The chat was an awesome feature to jump in and bounce around a few ideas or questions and get some instant feedback. It seemed like ALL of the resources I needed, ALL of the tools I had been looking for on a bunch of random sites, were all in one place.

I didn't even wait for my 7 day trial to end, I signed up right away. If anything, the money that WA users saved me should be better invested into spending some time with this site. I may not be able to stay for long, but I hope in a few months I can start bringing in enough money to justify keeping a premium membership.

I can't wait to find out! =)
