It's the Weekend-Are you ready to let go?

Are you ready to de-stress? Here are a few tips for a PEACEFUL weekend :

  • I know you want to shut off the alarm and sleep in 'til noon, however getting up at a decent time on the weekend is a good thing. When you get up early you keep your sleep pattern regular and this is healthy for your mind and body. As well, if you get your to-do list done early (Swiftering :), laundry, groceries...) and out of the way, you have the rest of the weekend to just chill and relax.
  • It's okay to stay in your pj's for the day (no bra/ no undies no worries....you know what I'm talking about). Giving yourself time to relax and maybe do a bit of binge watching of your favorite episodes is great (it's great to accompany this with your favorite beverage and snack- it's okay-it's the weekend). So enjoy those moments of relaxation and freedom, seriously, they seem to becoming less and less as our lives get busier and busier.
  • Catch up with a friend or two. It's good to make a point to reconnect with the world socially (this is a personal goal of mine). Plan a dinner out, go for awalk or a bike ride, or just make a phone call (not a text) to hear a loved one's voice. Having positive social interactions can increase a feeling of peace and happiness and who doesn't want that!

***Roll out your yoga mat, turn on your favorite tunes, lay back, close your eyes and take time to soak it all in. Visualize you are at your favorite vacation spot or achieving your next big goal. The National Institutes for Health recognizes the power of “guided imagery” to help with relaxation.

Each weekend take time to undo all that stress you built up over the week by trying these few tips for a better, more peaceful YOU!

Hi Andrea, great points for relaxing. I turn the alarm off, but usually still get up around the same time (unless by body is telling me I need sleep) more importantly I try and keep the time I go to bed consistent.

For me relaxing means working on my website and forgetting the worries of my day job.
