Why are you really here?
ToniJ wrote an excellent blog this morning entitled "It's time to follow your heart" https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/tonij/blog/it-is-t...
She really opened up and shared what is meaningful to her and asked "what excites you and what do you ultimately want to create in the world and what steps you are doing to create this?"
Her post had power for three reasons:
1. Toni stripped away the 'mask' and was very genuine.
2. She asked valuable, thought provoking questions.
3. Toni taught me an important lesson. If you want people to open up and share, you have to lead by example and bare your soul first to establish trust.
She established so much trust that not only did I think about her question, I answered it really earnestly. See, I originally thought I was at WA to make money online. But after reading her post, I think there's a much deeper reason and here it is (as I posted in response to her blog):
....Chasing the money by taking the wrong job was, at least for me, a soul crushing waste of my life. That's why I joined WA :)
To answer you question "what excites you?" I'd have to say it's the benefits of being mindful about personal finances and resources. Making good choices with those things today and every day to capitalize on the the one thing we all have - 24 hours/day.
My husband and I live very frugally now because we have a dream for our future. We want to live on a boat with our two dogs and go wherever the wide open water calls us (except across an ocean...that's too much water for me!). We want to live in the moment every day from sunrise to sunset, take in fresh air and sunshine. We just want to "be", not "do".
We watch our friends and co-workers make interesting choices with their disposable income. Those choices create short-lived satisfaction and long-term consequences. They lock themselves into jobs they hate, but can't leave because of debt. And that makes me so sad.
For too long I accepted as a fact that I would get a job out of college, work until I was 65 (well, now 67) to collect Social Security, and hope that my 401K grew enough to sustain me for 20 years of retirement before I die. That was the plan for a lot of people, and it didn't work. Bubbles and crashes and murphies law killed that plan. And I vowed that I'd do everything in my power to prevent that from happening to us.
If I could do anything, it would be to share that mindset to inspire other people to make smart choices today so they can create a future they want...."
See how I bared my soul because she established trust? What a powerful way to communicate and engage!
So, if you haven't already, take the time to read Toni's blog post at https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/tonij/blog/it-is-t...and answer her questions for yourself. I hope you find her post as valuable as I did.
Wishing you all a fabulous day!
