Do You Really Know Your Own Life Story?

Do you realize that your own lifestory is based on memories ... not necessarily accurate memories?

Your parents, or other family members, may have told you their version of your life story, which you memorized. Throughout your life you have added memories to that story, based on your interpretation of your experiences, and now tell a significantly different version, from what your parents told you.

Over time, memories and stories change, as our perception changes, or other influences of events or people twist and skew the storyline.

How much of your story, is actually factual?

Did you know, you can recall lost memories, through hypnosis to help you to fill the blanks of events or people of long ago? These may be happy, sad, exciting or just everyday events that are part of your life story but were long forgotten.

Through hypnotic trance you can access these memories, stored in your subconcious mind, to complete and clarify your real life story!

Before taking this step, be sure you are willing to learn of both positive and negative truths, as often there are "skeletons in the closet" which you may or may not wish to uncover. As well, 'family secrets' may be recalled through this memory recall process ... some may be good secrets, some not so good!

Your personalized 'Own Life Story' hypnosis session will provide a deeper, more complete appreciation of who you are. In these sessions, you are an objective observer, of your life and will see these events unfolding before you.

Hi Allan, welcome. Yes, I would love to learn more. Like many I am sure, my family history was somewhat negative, however, I saw a lot as a child, but I have a good memory of things that occurred, and missed a lot in the middle. At 61, I would like to find the missing links, and finally get to know and understand why things have turned out the way they did.

Very curious,

Looking forward to hearing back.

Carla, thank you for your interest, it is a fascinating topic to many people ... I have sent you a PM - have a wonderful spring day!

Interesting views.

Don't you feel that it's better to remember only the positive life lessons rather than try to relive past mistakes or trauma?

For me, a life story is only important to know before I change it to fit what my goals are in the present. Once you realize that your past matters for what you need to know only, it makes it much simpler to have a clear mind to concentrate and focus on where you are going.

Hypnosis has so much to offer us in assisting with problem-solving that it makes it far better to practice in response to where I want to finish.

Even the best storytellers don't tell you facts, they exaggerate things for entertainment purposes. This is also why you simply should not believe everything you read or have complete faith in something that isn't yourself.

There are some forgotten memories which are the basis for current blocks or anxieties ... clarifying the source of these feelings from an objective viewpoint allows the person to get past the blocks. I do not believe in reliving trauma, instead we use visualization to view the events from an observers point of view. We are the product of our past experiences, understanding those experiences, calms our anxieties and worries, allowing us to move on with confidence.

This is very interesting! However, you have to be very careful, as you have said, of what you might discover. Thanks for sharing!

Nichola, I agree it is important to prepare the individual to accept, forgive and let go of any negative information learned through this process. I always try to focus on the Happy memories and events in their lives unless they specifically want to retrieve a memory that is causing them anxiety. Care must always be exercised to only do what is best for the client ...

That's why old family photographs and printed material are so important. But so also is oral history from older family members, whether it's corroborating or conflicting. I like to maintain an on-line family tree with links to all this stuff for future generations.

Phil ... my wife owns a scrapbooking store and has been preaching the need for Life Story Albums for years ... it is surprising how many people have very little knowledge of the family tree beyond their Grandparents, and even that is very limited. Even more surprising is how often memories are skewed by subsequent events ... so it is not just historical memories I am referring to but childhood experiences that have been forgotten. Often the clarity gained helps people to understand themselves much better ...
