4 milestones in 3 big days for me
The last 72 hours have produced:
- Me going yearly on the WA Black Friday deal;
- My first post to a group on FaceBook;
- My first experiments with MailChimp;
- My first Affiliate sale!
WA Black Friday deal:-
No big deal here other than the "most excellent" deal on offer.
Except - in true WA style, the monthly payment I had made for premium was refunded on a pro-rata basis which further reduced the BF yearly price.
Now there are lessons for us all here in that one simple gesture:
- It is totally in keeping with the brand and ethos of WA to do this;
- I wasn't unduely surprised (had enough confidence in the way WA operates to half expect something like this);
- It further under-pins my confidence in WA as a business.
Folks, for the cost of a few dollars, Kyle and Carson have re-enforced the brand of WA with me and further enhanced my confidence in WA as a business -- something we can all learn from.
FaceBook:-
Bare in mind folks, I only signed up to FaceBook 10 days ago - and have spent this time trying to get to grips with an alien world.
However, I grew in confidence sufficiently enough that I joined a group relevant to my niche and made a post with a link to an article on my website.
MailChimp:-
Thanks to Pat Flynn's 0-100 mail challenge, I have built up a willing subscriber list of 30 for my nich and I am expanding my list gradually.
I have started putting simple subscribe forms on my website and I have already captured 2 subscribers from organic traffic alone.
I have created and sent a test email to myself from the MailChimp facility.
Affiliate sale:-
Ok, so it's not a big deal monetarily, it is my first ever referral, and it's a monthly subscription amount (residual income - see I'm learning the jargon now!).
In all honesty, this is probably sooner than I was expecting and it has boosted my confidence.
I can't prove it, but I have a strong suspicion this came as a direct result of my post on FaceBook.
So there you have it folks, a morale boosting few days for me - and I couldn't have done it without this business model on WA or the community that is so helpful (including those members I have been PM-ing and have given me great assistance - you know who you are!)
None of these things are dramatic in themselves, but they have left me with several key messages:
- Every small step has an incremental effect;
- The training really does work and it is important to follow each step and not skip or bounce around;
- Persistence pays off and it is most definitely a marathon and not a sprint;
- I can do this!
Thanks for reading and I hope this inspires others to keep on going,
Al
