Six Months!

Well, folks, I've officially made it to the six-month mark as a Wealthy Affiliate member. And let me tell you, it's been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, failed challenges, and a whole lot of mental gymnastics.

I remember when I first joined Wealthy Affiliate, I was brimming with enthusiasm and ambition. I had grand plans of becoming a blogging superstar, churning out content like a well-oiled machine. In fact, I even set myself a personal challenge – to write 30 blog posts in 30 days.

Oh, what a fool I was.

That challenge was an epic fail. I barely made it past the first week, and even those posts were riddled with typos and questionable grammar. I was like a deer caught in the headlights, paralysed by the sheer enormity of my self-inflicted stupidity.

But hey, that's just part of the journey, right? I mean, they don't call it the "wealthy" affiliate program for nothing. It's a marathon, not a sprint. And just like any marathon, there are going to be ups and downs, hills and valleys.

Mental Gymnastics

Speaking of ups and downs, let's talk about the mental gymnastics involved in this whole online business thing. It's like your mind is constantly battling itself: one side whispering doubts and fears, the other screaming affirmations and positive thoughts.

It's a constant tug-of-war, and sometimes you just want to throw your hands up in the air and scream, "I give up!"

But then you remember that old adage, "The mind is a powerful thing." And it's true. Our thoughts have a profound impact on our reality. If we constantly focus on the negative, we're only going to attract more negativity into our lives.

That's why I've been focusing on positive thinking and the law of attraction lately. I'm not saying it's easy, but it's definitely worth the effort. The more positive we can be, the more positive our lives will become.

And for those sceptics out there, I only have one question: What's the harm? If thinking positively actually works, you've everything to gain, if it doesn't work, you've lost nothing!

My Blog

And that's where my blog, Mindlake, comes in. It's all about exploring the power of the mind and how to use it to create the life we want. I share tips on mindfulness, positive thinking, and the law of attraction, as well as personal stories about my own journey of self-discovery.

As well as blogging about the law of attraction and positive thinking, I try to make it science-based so that it is not all "woo-woo" and fluffy. I talk about Quantum Mechanics, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Neuroscience, but I also talk about my own mind and how I've struggled heavily with my own mental health - quite badly - over the last few years and my internal battles and my realisation that my self-imposed view that I have to be perfect all the time is utter nonsense and not good for my mental health!

I'm not saying I have all the answers - I'm learning along the way too - but I'm hoping that my blog can help others on their own journeys of personal growth and achievement. So if you struggle with your mind, your mental health, are self-critical all the time, let's discuss it together!

It's a Marathon - Not a Sprint

And remember, folks, it's important to understand that this is a journey, not a race. Things aren't going to change overnight. There will be days when you feel like you're making no progress at all. But that's okay. Just keep putting in the effort, and eventually, you'll reach your destination.

The Law of Attrition

The Law of Attraction and the Law of Attrition are extremely closely linked - The law of attrition - in respect of success - refers to the principle that success often involves persistent effort, resilience, and the ability to endure challenges over time.

It implies that achieving success may require facing setbacks, failures, and difficulties, but those who persevere and continue their efforts are more likely to succeed. This concept applies not only to personal achievements but also to organisational success, emphasising the importance of dedication and commitment to overcome obstacles.

In essence, the law of attrition underscores the idea that success is often a journey marked by persistence, learning from failures, and staying committed to long-term goals

So, my fellow wealth affiliates, let's keep grinding, keep learning, and keep growing. And most importantly, let's have some fun along the way.

After all, it's the journey, not the destination, that makes this whole thing so worthwhile.

Thanks for sharing Alex and it's so true that everything is down to having a positive mindset!

Cut the negativity out, believe in ourselves and keep on keeping on my friend!

Thank you, Jessie :) that is so true - it's so important to keep positive! It doesn't mean you WILL be positive all the time - we're all human and life gets in the way, sometimes. But it's important to try and pull yourself back in from cold, negative thoughts and get back to the warmth of positive thinking!

Well said my friend and absolutely spot on! :-)

Alex, you've had quite a journey to get this far and I wish you all the best for your continuing journey towards success. Best wishes, Jenni.

Thank you, Jenell!
:)

Very honest self appraisal Alex.
All the best you will get there.
Michael.

Thanks, Michael!
I still feel like I'm nowhere at the moment - just at the beginning - but I am determined to stick it out until something starts happening!

It would be lovely to have a mentor telling me what to do and that I'm doing all the right things and guiding me, but I guess I'll have to do it all alone. I WILL get there! :)

If your feeling stuck Alex just remember there is no such thing as a stupid question in here.
Mindfulness is a tough niche ( which sometimes tips over into health supplements, hypnosis and diets), and there is no shortage of topics or keywords on it.
The best ones in that niche (in my opinion), are those who use personal stories readers can relate to. Think :"Having a beer while talking to a friend" and write the same way you would as if you were having that conversation.
Make sure you are building an email list. If you are worried about cost, there are cheap list builders that work well.
A look through the WordPress plugins should give you an alternative to the more expensive ones.

Michael.

Impressive journey, Alex! 🌟 Keep thriving!
