I think the question kind of explains itself but I'm curious to know how often you use keywords on your posts but also what kind of results that amount has granted you.

I would just use it in the title. Once in the first paragraph/ Keep the URL slug short and sweet. Name your images after your desired keyword. For the rest of the article I would just write naturally. If I had to use the keyword/s again I would use similar words not the exact keyword.

I would suggest following the lessons step by step, this will all be covered.
But i use my keyword as my post title, then center your writing around that keyword, i try to use my keyword in the 1st and last paragraph, and bold them. also make sure they make sense when using them in your content. Don't try to over use it.
