In this increasingly connected world, it can be so hard to maintain our focus, all of us are just so busy and there are so many demands on our time.

Just by living, we are all connected and much of our life is influenced by the internet. By default, we live in a data-saturated world, you can not escape it.

Most folks go about their lives totally unaware, or should I say blissfully unaware. For us folks that have jumped the fence and are striving to create an online business, that will, in turn, enhance our lifestyles, the world of opportunity is at our feet.

One of the best ways to get over the "can't do this, it's too hard, can't write, never could don't know anything about business and everyone else is doing way better than me I'll never get there. " blues.

Is to remember.

What was the life spark that breathed life into your aspirations, we all have something, that one thing that ignited that passion to do something to create some change, and for some reason coming to the online world is the driver for that change.

Let's be honest, there is a romantic idea about creating an online business. At its heart, it is where the tall tales and true from the legendary past are created. It is to a degree a modern day adventure, full of so many possibilities, talk about stepping out of the mundane.

One of the biggest things is that we can lose sight of the very reason that we came to this wonderful industry, and one of the reasons is that we let our dreams slip away. They are the engine rooms of our best work, we need to embrace our dreams folks.

The great thing about online marketing is that it doesn't matter what other people do, or don't do for that matter they are not going to impact on your bottom line, end of story.

The only thing that will, is you.

One of the best pieces of business advice I ever got was from someone that I didn't know at that time, they came up to me at a social function, looked me in the eye and said,

" Don't worry about what your competitor down the street is doing you just worry about what you are doing."

How simple, solid gold.

A little background there was a new business in town they were just nailing it and everyone else. I was going for a run and stopped by this business in the evening, you know one of those " what the.......... going on here moments " that we all have at times in our lives and it can be across the board in every aspect of our lives at times. This guy saw me from his office and made a point of coming up to me and expressing some of his experinces, I have been grateful for that many times over.

The message was so simple and this guy is so successful, not just in money terms but also in lifestyle terms, as folks say living the dream.

In the offline, the world what folks do can impact on you, when things occur we have to be on our game and meet things head-on with creative solutions in order to compete or maintain our market share.
Just from observation in the online world, it doesn't matter what other folks do, they are not really going to impact on what we are doing, the money we are making, our bottom line, they are not going to cramp our styles, hold us back, make it impossible to create the outcomes that we are striving for.

It is almost like we have to put some blinkers, like the racehorses wear, as soon as you start looking sideways you are not looking where you are going, in that instant, you have lost focus. If, you are a race car you will hit the wall as quick as a flash. If, you come out of that last corner slower than you have gone into it, you are not going to make it around that corner.

I see some folks on the outskirts of "success city" only to take their eye off the road ahead, bingo all of a sudden its game over rover.

Don't worry about what others are doing, just focus on what you are doing and if the opportunity presents to help your fellow travelers then seize it.

The horse beside you may outrun you, try not to sweat it, just run your own race, the best thing we can do is to outrun ourselves, just for the thrill of doing it.

At the end of the day, the only competition we have is with ourselves, we win that one, then there is not much in this universe that will trouble us.

Seriously.

The online marketing world is the bee's knees and we are parked up in the right hive, here at Wealthy Affiliate. Kind of feel really sorry for the folks that don't know about it.
