Being Hungry For sales, success can be the thing that can take our aspirations to whole new levels. When we think of hunger in that survival sense, we need food to feed our machines, so hunger could be defined as having a strong desire or craving for something or a particular outcome.

When you win big and have that taste of success, it is way cool in life or business. It can even be those small successes that keep the life spark of your dreams and goals glowing in the dark. We can stop ourselves in our tracks like a wrecking ball and make it hard for us to win again if we do not immediately go back to training, learning, and dedicating ourselves -- we must stay hungry, win or lose, success or failure. When the sales start to happen we all need to pile it on, one thing for sure the competition won't be stopping even if we do. It can take time to learn this lesson!

One of the showstoppers for any business is to act like you do not need any business. It is tomorrow's game, not that important. So many folks let themselves down on this score. We all need sales to survive.

Right from day one, we need to connect with where we are traveling and what we are trying to sell; that proposition, those offers that product and those services; we need to have the idea that we are selling to survive.

Making that connection that you are selling to survive can create a hunger ad desire to succeed. Without that, we can hum drum along without focus or cause, drifting in that calm ocean of nothingness.

It is about learning to sell, driven by that hunger to succeed.

One of the most fun kinds of selling is at live markets, car boot sales, fairs, and trade shows where you can have that one-on-one interaction; it can be entertaining, so not like selling at all. You can cut your sales teeth in this kind of arena. It is that interaction that where you learn what people want ad how they tick. Once you realize, you can affect sales at the drop of a hat.

There is something cool about banter, and it is an excellent way to develop that sales mindset. Without that, it can be hard to sell anything.

These days entering a shop, the sales rep sees you, eye contact, and they are speeding toward you like a low flying sidewinder missile, "can I help you" in your mind talk "no, I just want the room to breathe, beam me up, Scotty." Sell, sell, sell, no connections are being formed, no fines of delivery that crescendo of relationship building.

There are salespeople in the world online and offline; Developing the sales mindset can be useful for business. A sales mindset considers the customer's and clients' wishes and preferences and involves listening and communicating. To sum up: Know why your product can help your potential customers, clients, and audiences. Help them, rather than coerce, if we look from our perspectives, we kind of know what we like and don't like when it comes to sales dialogue.

Learning the most important part of the sales mindset has stood me in good stead: listening, both with your eyes and ears and in replying, always be measured. I can be enthusiastic, so it has taken time to get into a sales mode that works well. It is a journey that continues!

Sales Mindset; focus on these things they are useful;

  1. Try not to compromise your integrity. If we can be truthful in what we communicate, it is the best policy.
  2. Stay positive, and share your positivity; it can impact those that we are communicating.
  3. Be confident with the way you present your products, services, offers, and opportunities. People pick up on this and will follow and take your lead.
  4. Work towards being prepared. In saying that, we need to prep ourselves, so we know about the product, service, and also have an idea of how we can help the person inquiring.
  5. Be mindful of your reputation; it is your invisible fortune; you can trade-off if people trust you; it is worth more than an ocean of gold. It can take ages to create one and five minutes to lose one.
  6. Be genuine; use your words to articulate your knowledge and understanding of both the products and services and align that with the customers' goals and aspirations.
  7. Present the best version of you that you can muster. Be expansive, and share your knowledge in a free-flowing friendly way.

Some thoughts on being friendly.

When working on that sales mindset, friendliness is a superpower we can develop. Friendliness is a magnet that draws people to you, and it is one of the best ways to create connections, simply by sharing your energy.

When it comes to blogging and presenting your thoughts and insights by creating content, the same holds true.

When we are hungry, we will do our most darn to create the outcomes we desire; it is a hard-wired part of our humaning.

Most of all, to succeed and keep on reaching, stay hungry, it can be the driving force to keep us striving to achieve what we are doing.

Let me know what you think it would be appreciated, many thanks.

Alex Evans.

Most think customer service is after the fact when it is from the first smile, (in person), and contact online.
In person is hard right now because they only see your eyes due to wearing a mask. In that case your body language and eyes have to show friendliness.
I do not like a person jumping on me. In stores I worked at we just said hi, and let me know if I can help. In a few minutes you will know if they need assistance further.
thanks for the insight.
bill

Hi Bill you have raised such a valid point we are living in new times wearing masks has introduced some complexity to our interactions.

I think we are all like that Bill, that pushy sales assistant, can be off putting.

My grandfather was a great salesman, and my father would say that he could sell ice to an Eskimo.

I always thought salesmen were born, but going through some of my grandfather's belongings, I saw the motivational quotes that he kept, as well as some of his books.

Just like all of us, this was a learned trait for him, as he didn't start off in life as a salesman.

The old-fashioned salesman would do exactly like what you've written here. He would get to know his customer, he would identify their problem, and then he would offer them a solution to that problem.

My grandfather grew up during the depression; he was the youngest of 12 children. He worked to make sure his family didn't have to experience that hunger.

Hi Cynthia. I think that we tend to picture things like that, we ate all blessed with talents and it can be a matter of relating to and developing the talents that we have.

None so true as a good sales person. It is what his goes on behind the scenes that makes us what we are.

Thank you for your engaging comment Cynthia,

We can learn so much from those around us.
