Best Ways to Manage Your Wealthy Affiliate Emails

One of the things that we need to develop is a way to manage the number of emails that we will end up receiving. Especially when we come to the online world in a marketing capacity. It is something that can cause a lot of angst.

One of the things that we need to do is to develop our own way of dealing with and managing emails. If we don’t we can be swamped and overwhelmed as well as letting opportunities slip through our fingers.

After a short while you will find that there will be an influx of emails into your inbox it is just the natural flow it only gets bigger as we grow into it, so we either manage the situation or we get overwhelmed and throw in the towel.

So emails and WA.

I see so often folks complaining about the number of emails that are landing in their inboxes sent from WA.

Just so we are on the same page with this one and contrary to popular belief, please read my words,

We only get emails from the folks we follow here in WA if we don’t follow them then we do not get notifications from those folks. So no you are not going to get 800k of emails on a daily basis, might be a different story for Kyle and Carson though but for the rest of us, it is only from people we follow.

This also extends to PMs I believe, no-follow then we can not PM someone.

So the simple solution don't follow anyone no worries, but in a learning environment and if you are looking at learning how to deal with emails and it is an integral part of the interactive online business these days better to work out the best way to manage the flow.

Fortunately, we can manage the email flow here at WA

  1. Click your image top right hand corner of your WA home page

  2. Click account settings

  3. Scroll down to” Email notification settings”

  4. Click yes if you want to receive emails from WA no if you do not want to.

We can also decide what emails that we want to receive, which can really help the flow, remember that you are only receiving them from members of your crew here at WA.

  1. As you can see we can ether select or un-select the emails that we will receive.

  2. We have complete control really so if you are receiving emails and they are overwhelming you the best thing to do is edit the emails that you do receive

  3. Save changes.

So there we have it, all sorted and we are good to go.

Remember it is you, that is in control !!!

The next step is to sort out how we receive those emails into our inboxes.

The view on a smartphone with a filter for WA emails in place, so as you can see it would be relatively easy to scroll through the emails, I usually read, respond and or delete on the spot.

The best way to do this is to apply some filters which can help organise the emails within your inbox. It makes it easier to manage the flow when they do arrive . I use Gmail so this is the focus.

Sometimes it takes a couple of days to teach Gmail that we want emails from certain senders in the particular filters that we have created.

A good place to start is here just follow along.

How to create a filter and label for WA emails in Gmail.

  1. Go to your Gmail inbox

  2. Check the email you want to filter in this case " Wealthy Affiliate."

  3. Go to more on the top menu.

  4. Click “ filter messages like these ", you will see a pop up which you can add additional information, all the associated emails will be listed.

  5. Click " create filter with this search."

  6. There will be a popup check what you want to happen with emails like this.

  7. To apply a label for the emails, check “ apply label “ check “choose label “ then check “ new label “,

  8. There will be a popup , write name of new label in this case Wealthy Affiliate, press create.

  9. Push the blue box “ create filter”

Hey presto you have a new filter and all your WA emails should show up there, I connect quite a bit from my phone it seems to be a growing trend, by scrolling down the list it is easy to see if folks have responded to something, or if you are in a conversation thread, new followers, training etc.

My motto read, respond and delete works very well. or in the case of training forward or star.

You may find that you can not respond to everything but it does give you a very good overview of what your inbox is doing. If you want to you can get more precise and filter for keywords by setting the filter that way.

End of the day it is all about email management, it is a skill that is really worth learning and evolving when it comes to email, especially if you are developing your very own email list.

Do we say,

" Oh i can't handle all the emails from my subscribers i am going to send them all to the spam folder "

or do we sit down and work out the best way to manage the list, so once again WA is providing us with a subtle way to learn email management while engaging with the community, and building our businesses.

Always look for the positive angle, because there always is one.

Great message Alex. I usually just scan down the list,open what captures my attention(manage e-mails), delete or 'star 'to read later(delete next day).I should try some filters as myway still eats up time Thanks, Paul.

Thanks for sharing Paul, we all have our own ways of dealing with emails, I am finding that labeling and adding filters really help's with the productivity.

Hi Linda so glad that you found some value in this post, you will find it very helpful as you move forward, it can take a little bit of time for Gmail to completly sinc in but it is really quite a powerful addition to your inbox.
