In a galaxy far, far away

A dad said to his son; " boy you are going to get married to the girl I choose for you".

Millennial son says; "no way your crazy".

Dad says; "oh she is Bill Gate's daughter ".

Son says; "okay I am up for that"

Dad rings Bill Gates and says; " I want your daughter to marry my son".

Bill Gates said; " what planet are you from no way ",

Dad says; " oh my son is the CEO of the world bank, and soon to become the president ".

Bill Gates says; " okay we will sort out the details ".

Dad rings the president of the world bank and said; " I want you to make my son the CEO of the world bank ".

The president says; " get out of here you crazy man, not happening on my watch".

The dad says: " oh my son is Bill gate's son-in-law.".

The president of the world bank said; " give us a couple of days we will have his office ready and send a limo to pick him up ".

Affiliate marketing in a nutshell

It doesn't matter how big or how crazy the dream, all you have to do is to focus on one thing, and one thing at a time, you will find that all successful marketers in the IM space do exactly that,

So if you are " rabbit warrening ". Stop right there and slam your marketing train in reverse

Successful folks don't reinvent the wheel,

they just follow, and when they get good at their oneness that is the time they explore new opportunities, that expand their positions. As you travel along there will be so many opportunities that will present themselves to you.

I will say this up front most people get sidetracked, that is the nature of marketing in our ever-evolving industry. They do not mean to it is just something that happens by natural processes, it is a natural occurrence in the marketing field.

To maintain that focus you need to learn the skills within one system, take action and follow through on your oneness.

Remember imperfect action is better than no action and wins every time.

The IM industry has so many branches, we need to focus on that one branch of the family tree that we are in and the one that we are going to become very proficient in it

Affiliate marketing is the promotion and selling of other peoples products and services, that is the singular activity, nothing complicated about that one, it is an industry that is expanding exponentially as more and more businesses start looking at this process as a viable way to gain and grow a market share.

Definitely a sunrise industry

Like all business it is about mutual benefit, it always has been and always will be, in all sunrise industries we need to be continually focused on creating value,

If we were to define business in the online world it is all about solving peoples problems and getting paid for it, that is the pivotal point it has never changed and it never will.

As marketers we are the folks at the apex, we are that pivotal point, between the seller and the buyer, a lot of folks don't realize that no one will come up to you and say hey ( your name ) you are the greatest marketer in the world.

You have to appoint your self to the job and create your own job description no one else will do it for you.

If you look at the example above the dad had three things.

Vision, he was going to get his son married off and provided for.

Focus on one thing, he was going to reclaim his 58" 4K ultra smart TV, sofa and remote control. You Ladies may smile but we menfolk are pretty single minded, I can hear the audience sighing "you don't say"

Outcomes were defined, a clear vision of what he was promoting, a plan and he was taking action to make sure that it all happened.

Do you know what you are about?

In this case of the dad he did know, I wonder how many marketers actually do? A lot of folks end up getting caught in the middle without realizing that is where they are, when we come to this industry we can be wide-eyed and full of strong expectations. One of the first shocks is that self-reflection and awareness that;

"well cob this may not be as easy as it all seemed in the travel brochure'

You know that one about " living the lappy lifestyle " in the middle of nowhere, while sand boarding down the dunes in the desert and sharing the experience with all your beautiful friends and then sharing it all on the " gram "

"Ah think it is my turn to put the garbage out this week ".

One of the hardest transitions to make is that shift from the buyers to the sellers mindset, it takes time to ingrain it into your being, just speaking from my perspective you may be able to relate. Once we have crossed that bridge things do start to fall into place we can start to create our vision, start focusing and start getting that game plan together and more importantly taking action to achieve our outcomes.

In business everyone has problems, making money, that is what it is all about is it not?

The product/service developer/creator needs to get that product flying off the shelves, the folks in the city and home shores need that product to solve their problems. That is what it is all about.

From observation one of the biggest traps, marketers can fall into is that the game is all about them, and them making sales and them making money, the endless vibe when folks are caught in that no man's land is that I am not making any sales, show me the money

One of the pivotal realizations can be that it is not about you,

But I am doing all this stuff it is all about meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

Bless my cotton socks.haven't you just contradicted your self.

You'll have to excuse me for a while because I am caught in the middle.

A shift in focus creates change.

When we change that focus which is usually directed solely at the audiences that we are trying to reach out to, to include the product creators and service providers, it can create a seismic shift in our whole marketing strategy.

If we can focus on the needs of all parties we can create an opportunity for poor me to disappear into the marketing flow, it becomes all about paying it forward and bridging that gap between the seller and the buyer.

It can be easy to drop parts of the equation without realizing and like any formula we need to get it right for things to work out.

The most important things as marketers is that we are focused on one thing and one thing at a time.

That in its self can be a game changer.

For me it makes a huge difference.

As for the wedding?

Don't panic the invitations are in the mail.

My "Article of the Day"!
Thank you so much, Alex.
This has opened my mind even more.
The realization that every little action I take should be geared towards creating massive value for the potential buyer.

Yes, it's not about me and it doesn't have to be about me!

I am so willing to sit in this throne of thorns if it pleases your majesty!
Jane

Hi Jane

Thank you for your kind words much appreciated and thank you for joining the conversation.

I travel through the rust towns with their main streets with shops which are boarded up, the towns are in this slow burn. Everything changes and if we don't adapt to that change there is only one inevitable outcome.

In the online world, there is so much competition, we all need to reach out and claim and create our own space, no one will give it to us on a silver platter.

It all starts with us creating value, for ourselves because we are seeking that change and more importantly for the folks that we are reaching out to and for the folks that we are representing.

A simple approach but one that works.

Have a productive week ahead.

Alex

Thank you very much Alex,
You create so much value!
I appreciate

So by using the Force, I can defeat the evil Empire & Create Change?
I sorry I got lost at In a galaxy far, far away...
Anyway, I didn't receive an invitation, yet...should I be worry?
;)

Classic Eric, I like your sense of humor, if that is how you roll I would say that you could do just that if that was the outcome that you are seeking.

That is awesome, thank you so much for commenting, we can lose so much in the cultural and language flips. If French is your main language then there will be nuances, that you will get just the same as there will be nuances the English first language speakers will get.

I haven't really thought too much about it, to be honest, I have learned something new, we are creating for wider audiences than the folks down the road or across town and so should always perhaps think in terms of that, and perhaps use more generalistic colloquiums, so we broadcast the message's that we are creating in a way that our audiences understand.

Thank you for stopping by and reading and commenting much appreciated.

Great joke! With so much truth behind it, Alex!
Love your way of thinking.
Hope you are having a great weekend,
C & P

Hi, C & P good to see you and many blessings for this holiday weekend.

Marketing is all about creating opportunities, and more than a few folks seem to get lost on the way through, by getting our focus and defining outcomes the journey can become more outcome orientated.

Thank you for your support much appreciated.

Alex

Great post Alex, I really enjoyed reading your post. Thanks for sharing.

Bushra

Hi Bushra, you are most welcome glad that you enjoyed this post.

Thank you for stopping by.

Alex.

I enjoyed reading your post, Alex. A great example of getting the best whatever it takes. Oh, if only it was that easy! That shift in focus is what makes or breaks us. Once focus is lost it's not easy to regain it.

Dedication is another quality much needed. As you mention, getting caught up in the middle and not realizing it, is a destroyer.

Well, I think it's about time I learned a lesson from the messages your post conveys. I've got so much going on since all the bother with my AM website that I feel completely overwhelmed. To add to that my nine-year-old website that has been a greater earner now requires much attention. Back to the grindstone! Although I do enjoy this grindstone. Ah! - that provides food for thought. Now, that's an example of the value gained from reading your post :)

Thanks, Alex. Have a great day.

Valerie

Hi Valerie, thank you for stopping by, I was wondering how you were going with that site, those technical aspects can create issues for us from time to time.

Focus can be critically important and I have to agree with you once lost it can be so hard to build that momentum again. To a degree that is where being a part of WA can be so beneficial, once momentum is created it is a lot easier to keep it flowing than that stop-start model where we slow down and then and try to rebuild.

We can get caught up in the middle and unfortunately, it can be when we are the exit sign, so many folks get caught in this position, and drift away.

It can be easy to end up going in circles and I think a lot of folks will relate to that, it can be easier said than done when it comes to being focused, I think that if at the very least we are aware then we are out in front of the pack.

Glad that you enjoyed this post, Valerie.

Have a Happy Easter

Alex

Thanks, Alex. I enjoyed reading your response.

Happy Easter to you, too.

Valerie

Thank you, Valerie, for your kind wishes, much appreciated.

Alex

Very good Alex. We get caught up in details and extra side aspects we lose focus. Focus on the one area and it will develop well to move to the next area and next area!
The status quo with no vision or plan will sideline us every time.

Hi William, hope that your holiday weekend goes well and thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Well said it can be so easy to get caught up in the forest and forget to take in the tress. Focusing on one aspect before moving on can be the thing that creates positive outcomes.

I like your closeout, zero vision will sideline us and we do not get anywhere standing on the sidelines being an observer, better to be in the thick of it on the filed every time.

Alex

Hi Alex,

Great humor but a valuable lesson about affiliate marketing. The main lesson here is to focus on one thing only create a plan then take action to realize it. It's not about us. It about us as marketers bridging the gap between seller and buyer. The more effective we are at bridging that gap the more successful we are as affiliate marketers.

Thank for using humor to help us to understand affiliate marketing in a nutshell!

Much success to you!

Kind regards,
Nichola

Hi Nichola, thank you for joining the conversation, I like how you expressed the level of success depends on the level of our ability to bridge the gap between seller and buyer.

A continual work in progress and one that is worthwhile.

Alex

Good post. I really liked your beginning story. Kyle is right -- a good story draws your audience in.

Hi Fran, Happy Easter, spinning, a yarn can be the way to draw folks in and if we can craft it into the theme of the content a wonderful way to convey a message.

Kyle was so right when he recommended that conversational approach, a work in progress for many of us, well worth the effort.

Thank you for commenting.

Alex

Great way to describe affiliate marketing and our journey

Hi Cathy, just some reflections, we kind of attract the energy that we put out there.

Thank you for stopping by.

Alex

Thank you, nice one!

Eva

Hi Eva, hopefully, some food for thought, it makes me think every day.

Thank you for stopping by glad that you enjoyed this post.
