First Affiliate Sale On My New Website
I got my first affiliate sale on my new website!
Hi everyone!
Last week started like any other regular week here at home, a morning talk with my husband to keep working on new content for our new website.
Our website is still young with only 7 months old, but believe me... we have been working steady to create new content every single day, some day we can publish a new post and some post can take us a couple of days working on it.
An E-mail from Amazon
One morning when I was checking my inbox, I noticed a new e-mail from Amazon, it was that bad e-mail to let me know our website hasn't made any sale and we only have 3 more months to make those 3 sales to keep on the affiliate program!
After reading that not nice e-mail, I decided to check how we were doing on Amazon.
Our website made its first sale that same day!!
What about that... in the same day!
After knowing that, I was feeling more confident our website can make those two more sales in 3 months, as we know this website is doing better on traffic.
Still no big numbers of traffic, but getting 30 to 40 daily visits is better than those days when we got 1 or 2 or even zero visits!
Do we have a unicorn in our website?
A unicorn in a website is one post that does really well, after looking how the website is doing for the last month, I noticed one post is getting a good number of organic traffic. And I keep an eye on it, and it keeps on the top of pages getting traffic on Google Analytics and Search Console.
Why To Celebrate This, When Amazon Is Not Fair With Affiliate Marketers?
That same day, and I'm sure we all will remember what day was it, Amazon sends to the world the information about lowering the Affiliate commissions :(
How come the same day it happened all !
Well, I just wanted to share, that I'm happy of the good results from our hard work on our website.
My husband had been working really hard, our coach did a great job helping us to see what to do and what not to do, and to trust on our work!
And me, oh well, I really enjoy working on this website... and I won't stop now, not even if Amazon is not what it used to be!
New Challenges As An Affiliate Marketer.
My husband and I had a meeting to talk about our next step (yes in the kitchen table and with a coffee)
We decided to keep working on our website, and look to different opportunities with other affiliates and to look for another way to start making money from this website.
After all having a business is about this, when a problem comes up, you need to move fast to find a solution.
I already applied to another affiliate program - 10 % commission and 30 days cookies, I'm waiting for the respond, and if it's a good opportunity, be sure I will share it with you all here!
Celebrate What Is Important, Small And Big
I want to point out that what is important here is that our work on this website is starting to work as it should be, getting organic traffic with the SEO good work is important.
It doesn't matter Amazon is not fair anymore with us, we will find the way to make this website works for us!
We are on the good path now!

Good Morning Alejandra,
We can all use some good news in these difficult times and I am happy to hear you made a sale. I think it is a clever idea to find other companies as Amazon is rather awful. Mr Bezos is getting even richer while his workers are getting sick, plus the Affiliates get less commission. This is not correct.

That's excellent Alejandra even though Amazon let you down at the end of it.
What it means of course is that this affiliate marketing thing actually works and if you can do it once you can do it again and again and again......
We know that other people make sales and earn commissions but when it happens to us it's like a revelation......wow, I CAN earn money on the internet!!!
