Best Way To Know Your Target Client

As this year began, I kept working on my "online business" the same way I did the previous years, (4 years now at Wealthy Affiliate) as my website report for the last year I can say it did better but not enough to reach the point I want to reach: full income working from home, and I could add "happily working from home"

This year began as nice as every year used to do, then I read one blog about some WA member getting interested on finding the way to work smarter, to reach better results, well I should write here, that got me really interested!

- How come they'll get in a group to get better results and I will miss that chance!

So, I kept reading more blogs about this topic, each one of them were sharing quite interesting information, and then one day Kyle blogged about the Super Affiliate group, and I was lucky to read his blog and comment on it.

I'm still doing the happy dance since the day I got Kyle's private message to tell me I'm part of that group!!

You can say, if I was already motivated to keep working on my sites. when I got the good news about I'm part of the Super Affiliate group here on WA, that got me really super motivated to keep on it.

So I read Kyle's first week blog and I got to work on it, even my website is already set to work on it, I went to the first Affiliate Bootcamp Phase 1, lesson 1.

It doesn't matter how many times you need to do or redo it, every time can be better and I will notice some points I might have missed the first time I read it.

Then I got to Phase 1, lesson 2 Choosing your Direction.

On this lesson Kyle will walk you through the process to understand who is your target client and why you need to know it when you want to start your own online business.

This lesson will take you by the hand to know who is your client.

Last night, I got to work on it, and I put it on paper.

As I work on writing on paper my ideas get clear and I can see everything about it.

A good exercise to do to know your client better is to write everything you might know about it.

I will talk about a "client" for my website, as an example, but you need to work and think about your client for your site.

I used to think about my client thinking on making money from Wealthy Affiliate: a person who wants to make money on line!

That was it.

But the truth is: I don't know anything about this "client",

Writing content for this client, will be like writing content for anyone who is looking to make money on the internet. Yes millions and millions of people,

That client will get hard times to find me and my website, just because I'm not writing anything for him or her.

It will take years for my website to do better this way.

Best way to know your client.

Get a paper and a pencil or pen, and sit down for 10 to 30 minutes.

Think on your target client, you can even close your eyes and picture him or her.

Name: write down his or her name, Jane, John, James, Ann, Alex, any name, just because your client is a person, he or she has a name, and it's better to think on your client as a person who is real.

You can even think of that friend who is struggling to make a good life right now, write down there name.

Age and gender:

It's not the same to write for young people wanting to make extra money on the internet or to talk to baby boomers, you need to know from what age to what age is your target client.

Some times, women and men have different ideas of what is improving lifestyle and get a better income, for this reason, some websites do better if they know who is their client.

Young women who want to be stay home moms, or women facing retirement and want to spend their time at home doing some hobby or do some traveling.

Same is with men,

Young men might have different ideas about making money, than mature men with family responsibilities or men with a pension.

What are your clients interest:

What does your client love to do, what is there dreams, how do they spend there free time, what kind of job do they have, etc.

You need to write down everything you think it can help you to HELP your client.

Your client "OUCH POINT"

As you write your website content, you'll be writing for your client.

Let's talk again about "how to get more referrals to Wealthy Affiliate" so you can make some money here at WA every month or yearly.

Your client wants to find the way to make some extra money working from home.

Your client might want to know where he or she can learn to start a website.

Your client is willing to learn how to work on it.

That person is your client.

You need to know who is he or she, where do they live, what do they do and what they want to do to improve their lives.

Can you help them to achieve their goals? if you're answer is yes, then you found your client.

When you write your website content, write for that person in particular, not for everyone!

One more thing about your client.

Your client is that person who has an "ouch point" and wants to find the way to solve it out, but your client is that person who has the will, the time and the money to pay for it.

That's a great process outline! Thanks so much for sharing with us. I too go back over the training and find details I missed...there is so much here to absorb!

Good explanation Alejandra, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Wayne!

This is a great training piece! I'll add it to my training file for future reference, and to pass on to others as well.

After nearly four years at WA, I am still far from where I expected to be. So, for the last couple of months I've gone back to the certification training. After that, I will go back to bootcamp, and "man up" to what needs to get done to take my business to the next level.

Keep up the amazing work you have been doing, and you will reach your goals and fulfill all of your dreams.

This is great! I also went back over the bootcamp phase one but what you've written just hit me in a way that gets right to the heart in a way that nothing else has so far on this topic.
Thank you!! :)
