Wellness – what does it mean?
Generally speaking, wellness or well-being has three main dimensions:
Health
Physical health means, that all body parts, organs, tissues and cells function properly. This allows to perform all the needed daily activities without any disorders. For the maintenance of physical health we need to have enough air, water, food, exercise and sleep.
Mental health consists of emotional, psychological and social well-being. It has an influence on our thoughts, feelings and actions. Mental health helps in handling stress, relations and choices.
Environment
All of us has some human relations, such as family members, friends, acquaintances or associates. A modern man or woman might have thousands of social media friends, but a big part of our wellness are depending how much of those are warm and close ones.
It is a proverb ”it is a lottery win to be born in Finland”. We have an excellent education for early childhood, children, teens and adults. Also, we have a great health care. These are some of the things behind our wellness and happiness here.
Money
Although it is said ”money doesn't bring happiness”, not having enough needed material and money impacts our health and performance. Financial stress is a common source of fear, stress and anxiety.
I wish you all happy, healthy and successful days all around the world. Let us live a full life today for a better tomorrow and whole future.
Greetings from Finland
