My One Years Experience at Wealthy Affiliate
I joined Wealthy Affiliate in March 2015, exactly a year ago.
Other programs I had tried in the past only succeeded in scamming and fleecing me and made me sick of online work. But the review I read about Wealthy Affiliate was so convincing that I signed up to join the program.
In that year, I have learnt to:
Create a professional site
I have learnt to create my website http://www.secureyourfuturewithus.com on WordPress.
Choose a theme
Having a wide range of themes to choose from enabled to change my earlier theme which lacked a comment section.
Write quality content
I was a published writer and a teacher of business English before joining Wealthy Affiliate. But I got extra training here, especially in affiliate marketing.
Back up my website
How would you feel if something happened and you lost the information on your website? I had never given this the slightest thought. Now I back up my site before undertaking any major action.
Clean up my site
Although I learnt to create and reorder menus on WordPress, I must admit I admire the ease with which one can reorder the menus on the blogspot platform.
Use keywords
Wealthy Affiliate taught me how to target people using keywords and even offered me a tool for keyword research, to check my site and page rankings in Google, and how to find unlimited amount of keywords, using the alphabet soup technique.
Get more content
Having learnt that you can link to an old post or parts of it or even use parts of it to write other posts, made coming up with new idea posts a breeze.
Create a socially engaging content
I learnt to create such a content using a headline to attract people to my article, by being visual, avoiding a sea of text and asking people to comment on the post as a final engagement boost.
Add Google Analytics to my site
This was one of the things I thought was only available to gurus or big affiliate marketers. With the training, I added Google Analytics to my site in no time. Now I can analyze my site and make corrections to attract more traffic.
Incorporate video into posts
People now consume more video than raw content, thus the phenomenal success of YouTube and other video sites. I learnt not only to add video to my http://secureyourfuturewithus.com/wealthy-affiliate-review-my-personal-experience, but also to centre the video, to add text to it and to resize the video image.
Write reviews
Like many affiliate marketing newbies, I mainly posted information from product sites generously sprinkled with raw affiliate links. Having learnt here that both actions are frowned on by Google, I understand why I couldn’t succeed before.
Using the three new techniques of alphabet soup technique, Question and Answer and How to Sites and ehow.com, I put five best keywords together and wrote my Jaaxy review.
The result was outstanding. My Jaaxy review still continues to pull in traffic like no other post on my site. It also brings me a lot of scam.
Create my own videos
I had never tried to create videos so this part of the course got me excited. But I quickly became disillusioned because the Internet connection in my part of the world was very slow. I had rarely been able to watch videos let alone create them.
The other problem I faced with video creation was YouTube’s community rules. Whatever video I posted was removed because somebody flagged my video as breaking some community rule and my channel received a 6-month suspension. When this happened thrice, a friend advised me to use Vimeo which is far more lenient.
Create an ultimate referral tool
What else can an affiliate marketer wish for more than a referral tool? The custom sign-up form gave me a personal touch to what I am promoting and I am sure it will enable me win customers over more quickly.
Try to use Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
This lesson gave me a very solid understanding of what PPC is, when to use it and the many benefits for my business.
Up to here, I have completed Phase 5 and 3 lessons of Phase 6. I’m giving myself two or three more months to finish Phases 6 and 7. Then I will concentrate on building my site with more and regular posts and getting traffic to them with various traffic techniques.

Really not bad at all. Wealthy Affiliate is what we should have fallen on years ago. But it's better late than never. Wish you good luck too.
