Do You Work for Success, Hope for it, or both?

I can think of three ways in which people live out their lives: work for their dreams, hope for their dreams, or do both.

Work for Your Dream?

Do you work for your dreams and hope that they will come true?

When I say work for your dream, I don’t mean just work. Everybody does that. But I want to say work hard, and with a plan. A plan which supposes that there are goals: short-term, medium-term, and long-term.

And not goals that one sets comfortably and then let drown in the depths of the business of living. But goals that one follows and resets if necessary to align them with current events or demands.

Hope for Your Dream?

Or on the contrary, do you just do the vital minimum for your dream and then hope that luck will strike out of the blue and lay your expected result(s) in your lap?

If we take the training at Wealthy Affiliate for example, this could be just following the training to create your website and not doing anything else.

That is, visiting influencer websites in your niche to learn more and comment on posts, attend the weekly webinars held here, visit the classrooms, read and comment on WA blog posts and write them yourself, and many others.

Work and Hope for Your Dream?

Or do you do both?

Ora et labora, the Latin saying goes. This means pray and work. It is similar to a Russian proverb which goes: Pray to God but keep rowing to shore!

Praying is not forcibly calling on a supreme being to come to your aid or bless your tasks. It could also mean resorting to positive affirmations to make your dreams come true.

Now it’s your turn

Which of these three ways do you use here at WA (or even in your life in general) to achieve your dreams? And why?

I used to just hope but I have recently started a set campaign of little steps each day, each week to reach my goals and it's really working.

Definitely need to use work and hope at the same time.

Thanks for the great post.

Lily 😊

That's natural. Many people begin any endeavour dreaming and when seriousness steps in, they change and take steps as you so aptly said.

Success is simply positive progress that takes you away from something you don't want and moves you closer to something you do want.

Right.

It has to be both.

I agree with you.

Akoli, takes both. You have to dream the dream, then work the dream, but never, ever stop dreaming.
You're doing great.
Joe

Yes, Joe, this is what I thought. And i like the way you worded it: dream the dream and work the dream.

Thanks for contributing.
