I'm looking to bring my html site from another provider to WA and wish to convert it to word press. Would you be so kind and give me all the steps needed and the best way to do

Hi Akim,

Interesting question here, which is unfortunately a little above my pay grade at the moment.

But I believe Chrys has provided a great answer below, although it sounds like a bit of work to me.

Let us know how you get on my friend.

Thank You

You can not directly convert a HTML Website to a WordPress Website.

What you can do though, is to build a new WordPress website using the free SiteRubix subdomain, and copy & paste all of the content and images over to it, until you are happy with how it looks.

Then you can use a 301 Redirection plugin to map the old filenames to the new filenames.

Once you are happy, you can then change the Nameservers for your domain name to point to WA. Once pointed, you can use the Move button within SiteManager to move your new website from the SiteRubix subdomain to your actual domain name.

I will do.

Thank You so much for the directions Chrystopher.

All the best-

Akim

Hello Chrystopher,

I just finished building my new WordPress site.

Do you think I should activate All in One SEO plugin now or should I wait until moving my new website from SiteRubix subdomain to my actual domain name?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks & Best Regards,
Akim

Apologies for the delay, there is no harm in adding All in One SEO. I personally recommend RankMath, but the choice is yours :-)

May I ask, what platform was your site built on and where is it hosted?
Tom

No clue. I twas built by a web designer in Html, That is all I know. It is hosted with Godaddy for the moment.

Thank You Tom,

Akim

Two options:

You can use this plugin https://cms2cms.com/blog/make-right-move-html-wordpress-converter-plugin/
I've never used it, but it has good reviews. It will cost you about $15 for 10 pages, so not too bad.

The other option is to follow the steps provided here:

https://www.wpexplorer.com/migrate-website-wordpress/ (check this out and use WA as your web host).

Tom

Thank You so much.

You're welcome. Were you able to convert it?

I checked it out but I haven't start working on it yet.
i will keep you posted.

Thanks,

I looked at the plugin demo and got discouraged. So I already started rebuilding the site this week via WA/word-press from scratch as I need to edit all the writing for the SEO, and the design in any way. I'm more confident that way.

Thanks Tom,

You're welcome and I hope that it works for you.

Hi, you need get in touch with site support for further instructions

I already did but they asked me to blog about it or use the live chat to ask the community for guidance.

Before WA changes its site, I saw a tip from you I think about the subject somewhere but I could no longer find it.

Thank You AJ,

Akim
