"It's a new dawn, a new day, a new life"

"Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn" Ralph Waldo Emerson
Maybe times are difficult at the moment and the future of the worldwide economy looks bleak (not to mention the toll on humans). But, if we look back and learn from the past it can give us hope. In 1844, J W Turner painted 'Rain, steam and speed the Great Western Railway'. At the time it was a new world with the Industrial Revolution that inspired hope for the future.
In retrospect, we might reflect today and wonder 'was it actually good for the world and did it make it better'? Everything sped up and the working class were able to buy nice things for their homes, mass consumption had begun. At the time, many thought this was a bright new future.
However, colonisation continued, the world population has since exploded and we have disastrus pollution problems. There have been many horrific wars and among other diseases was the Spanish flu 100 years ago.
Nonetheless, we are still here and in some countries getting to grips with the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be new opportunities as everyday is a new dawn, a new chance to start again.
Humans are innovative and this may be a huge upheaval but some good things will come out of it and some not so good. No doubt we will have to change with the times and adjust.

I take life one day at a time, Alexandra! It's a lot less stressful that way, besides, we never know what each new day will bring!
