Content is King. Right? So what if Im not a writer!?

I am dedicating this Blog to most of the Newbies here at Wealthy Affiliates... Like myself, we all are new to this unique opportunity, and I'm sure for most of us This is a new experience altogether, and although we don't know what to expect on this ride, it is definitely exciting and thrilling nonetheless...

That being said, I want to get into the issue of writing content for your menu's. Depending on where you are in your lessons, it is fairly easy to identify the fact that Content is definitely an important part of your website... maybe even possibly the most important part. And for some, like myself, who are not seasoned writers by any stretch of the imagination, or for those whom never authored anything more sophisticated than a birthday card, this can be an extremely scary task and or hurdle to overcome. Thinking that you have to write tons of content on a subject that you may or may not be very familiar with is enough to make some people call it quits right then and there... but before you do, take a second and breathe.... Trust me, it may not be easy, but I guarantee you that it is not the end of the world!

What I would suggest to those that are terrified at the thought of having to write something of value for their site, is to first, do a little research after you have come up with your menu headers. Go into some other sites that have the same topic, and see what points they are covering pertaining to that specific topic. There is nothing wrong with getting ideas from other sites... you don't have to copy their content or even use it word for word. you can simply just get an idea on the main points you want to cover for that topic.

Next, If you find yourself staring at a completely blank screen thinking, " What in the world am I going to put on this page," try to do what I do that works almost every time... just start typing... type something... type anything... once you do, the ideas will start popping in your head, and you will all of the sudden find yourself in a groove that you never expected to be in!

The last bit of advice I would give when it comes to writing content for your site, is to write from the heart. Write exactly what you feel... write the things that you feel are important. This will resinate through your site and to your readers. It will feel genuine to them and give them a comfort level, like you wrote those words specifically with them in mind.

I hope this will at least help some of you new affilates get a clear path into writing the content for you sites, and realize that you're not being asked to do brain surgery, and it does not have to be as scary as you are making it out to be... Just focus and believe in yourself. This is something that you can accomplish if you put the effort into it... Trust me, I know you can do it!!!
