I fell for it , Hook, line, and Sinker
I thought I would make progress quicker if I hired out some designers to update and add stuff to my website.
They told me it would be ready by Thanksgiving. Well after bad support and outright lies they put together a nice site and I quickly moved it back home to WA. There's no place like home. Minus the five grand.
Now my site is here but the problem I have now cannot be ignored.
The site was made with WPbakery. The theme is called Salient. One of my other advisers said that it will not be updated because it's only a copy of the orignal format. Elementor and WPbakery do not work together. So I either have to continue with it or recreate the whole thing using elementor. Lots of content, media, links,and work involved. It wont be easy and my niche peak time is in the spring. I asked this before when I wanted to add Elementor content to WPbaker. It was sugggested that I copy the elementor content in blocks and add it to the WPbakery site. Well That crashed the site and they even locked me out for a while. You cannot add from one to the other using those elements.
So I either must continue to ride it out or build it all over again.
I know it wont be easy but some say it wont be as hard as I think. I think the right thing to do is to start over. It took me 14 months to get this far and now I must start all over?

That is really bad. There isn't much you can do to salvage the coding unless you get the transfer code from whoever was hosting the site and transfer it. If you can't, copy and save of the text. If you like the look, do screen shots of each page and maybe snip each picture so you have them to stick into your WA site.

I don't know if the developer knows that I took the website and moved it to WA..I am afraid of some sort of malicious intent .because these folks told me I was being hosted by Bluehost and Bluehost told me it wasn't and that it was hosted someplace else on the other side of the world . They tell me they will call me back and never do. I want nothing more to do with Gorilla Writers, And I would like to know how to file as many negative reviews to as many folks as I can so they don't have to go thru the same thing I did.
The idea of copy/paste sounds doable. will the interior links carry over?
Screen shots also sound like a good idea.
I was just starting to add products when I discovered this. I also work with WPlive support it is a screen share platform where they know everything wordpress and help you do it. now. It cost $149 per month and I consider that a value because of the instant response for any help I need.. They told me that the plugins will update themselves and I could just ride it out.
I think I will continue to build it and replace it using Elementor at the same time.
It's almost Springtime and I don't want to miss out on the opportunity to get a return on my 2 year, eight thousand dollar investment.

It took my wife and I a very long time to finally find a web developer that knows what they are doing, we have been looking since we started our business in August 2006! From trial and error and using numerous sites to find a web designer/developer, we finally found the best on peopleperhour.com, she is amazing and has truly done everything we have asked her to do, 5 star rating on pph. So I am dabbling to do a few websites on my own, and quickly discovered how difficult it was to do one that looks great and produces results. I have been on WA Premium for 1+ years and still struggling. Fortunately I am not making a living from these sites. I wish you much success and significance. Best wishes from Long Beach CA...
