My Daily Planner.
Hello, my fellow Wealthy Affiliate friends.
So, I joined here back in March of this year, looking as you all were for something better in life; a new start, a new direction.
This site has been overwhelmingly helpful and fun to be involved in. I've learned so much! I was cracking on with things and doing well up to the two-week mark, when my personal life fell apart. As a result, I took some time off, (regrettably so) and focused on finding my inner peace again.
So here I am, back again and decided I would share with you my new daily routine, as it helps for me to stay focused and keep on moving forward, no matter what happens in life.
We all need a kick up the ass motivational-wise from time to time and i'm no exception to that. So this is what kicks me up the ass!
What I did when deciding to get really serious with this was to plan out my days in a constructive way. I wasted so much time watching movies or on Facebook or other things, and none of it brought anything good to the table other than simply making me feel better for a small moment in time. There was always the heavy thought in the back of my mind realizing that if I didn't change something, I'd be stuck in a dead-end job, I'd be broke, I'd be without a sense of direction, etc. I complained about my job but did nothing to change it. So I made a list. I thought of all the things I'd learned already, thought about where I want to be this time next month, next year etc, and thought about the daily steps to move my goals forward, and I went to work on planning it.
I started with a 30-day plan recently, which obviously includes a chunk of time continuing with the Bootcamp lessons on here. Of course I'm gonna learn some of the things on here that I already wrote as separate plans, but that's just a bonus.
The first thing I do when I get up is focus on my goals, meditate on them even. I allow my mind to go as deep into this as it wants to go, which is pretty deep. It gets me in the right mindset for the day, y'know? I spend, maybe half an hour on this. It helps immensely to have your GOALS WRITTEN DOWN. I can't emphasize this enough. Infact, I think this was the very first thing we were encouraged to do here at Wealthy Affiliate; it works.
The second thing I do is a workout and jump in the shower. Nothing like tackling the day feeling strong and pumped full of feel-good endorphins!
After that, I listen to an audiobook relating to success. Currently I'm listening to 'Think And Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill. It's amazing the inspiring thoughts and ideas that come about just listening to something like this. It gets you in a good place ready for the day and I've written down so many ideas just from feeling so inspired by that alone. It has helped me shape the direction of my website and incorporate all the things I want to do within that. I listen to the same audio book every morning for a week straight. If you're anything like me, you hear something and while retaining some of it, forget some of it also. One audio book a week of a similar nature is 52 audio books per year that really sink in.
Now that I'm all fired up and motivated, feeling strong and happy (exercise is wonderful), I crack on with tasks. I figure if I'm gonna really push myself in this and do well, then it's good to have a written-down list of tasks to accomplish for that day, so that's what I have. Each day, I know exactly what I'm doing, and push on through it, whether I feel up to the task or not. The more I push through, the more the momentum picks up and I keep going. I find by having a daily planner of sorts written down on paper, organized in bite-sized chunks makes it easier to stick to. Within this schedule are a few hours on continuing my lessons in Bootcamp here. The other tasks I do are extra. I'm also currently doing a Udemy course on Youtube marketing and it's amazing what I've learned in that so far; things I'd never have thought of myself. Some of my day is spent doing that also. When I've completed that course and implemented its lessons, I'm going to move on to learning coding. When that's finished, something else. The idea is to keep on moving forward.
It helps if you know exactly what you're going to be doing the next day. Have your day planned out so you know what you want to achieve by the end of the day. Have your week or even your month planned out. When it's written down as opposed to a thought in your mind, it's easier to stick with and you're less likely to let other things deviate you from it. Not only will you likely complete your tasks, but you will have that extra awesome feeling at the end of the day knowing you achieved a lot, whether that's learning, creating, completing tasks, whatever. I almost treat it like a timetable. Remember when you were at school and had a bunch of subjects throughout the week on a timetable? Seems daunting to learn so much, but by breaking the learning down into segments throughout the week, like we do here, it becomes more easily digestible bite-sized pieces. It also keeps me from getting bored plugging on with the same task. I like to shake it up a bit.
I hope this blog helps. I didn't start off the day planning to write a blog on here, but in my free-time moments became inspired to do so.
Thank you all for being such an awesome bunch of people to know. You all rock!

Hi Steve! Yeah, it's been a while but I'm back! More focused than ever before. How are you?
To be honest, I have been lacking in focus myself lately. Time for me to get it in gear too :)
I can so relate to that because for about 4 months I was that way myself.. the kicker is where would I be now had I not done that? The things I use daily now really keep that focus strong, but not only that, it inspires new ideas that I didn't have beforehand, plus of course being part of this community always helps immensely.
Being at work one has to complete certain tasks in a day. It's therefore a good idea to have these same strategies when working for oneself.
