Keywords for your articles. One per article.

Thank you. I'm sure there will inadvertently be other keywords within the article itself just by writing... I assume this won't make a difference in rankings as long as they low-hanging fruit keywords is also in the article?

That's true. Sometimes you get ranked for other words in the article that you didn't even intend to rank with.

Keyword is always for an article. Usually this is one essential keyword for this particular text but you may have many synonyms in the text as well. Another article is in principle another keyword, you do not want to compete with yourself.

Should the keyword be in the title of the ariticle?

Yes absolutely, in title and in meta title. Have a look here:

Does it matter if your website url doesn't contain the keywords for a particular article?
Ok after reading your article, I see that it refers to the url for the post, not the basic host url site to begin with. Ok, cool, and thanks!

Getting ready to start course 3 in a couple of days. It is a lot to take in, that's for sure.

Hi, I've been through the getting started classes. I'm also working my way through Bootcamp but not finished yet, So at this time I'm not much help. But lets stay in touch.

Sounds good, Jimbob. It's an exciting journey for sure.

I completed it in a couple of weeks. Had the time and the motivation to get it finished and being focused on the website. Everyone is different. I also review lessons as needed.

That's awesome! I find the technical stuff easy enough to do, it's the content writing that takes the time for me.. I try not to force it and write when the inspiration is strong.

So after finishing the whole course, are you finding your website profitable?

Great question.

I've been here almost 2 years and still haven't completed it! Once the site started getting big, I just focused on adding more and more content.
I did recently get into the PPC part of the training. I set a Bings ads account, funded the account and created my first PPC campaign. BUT, in less that 24 hours, Bing closed my account with no explanation! I did some research and apparently, Bing does this to many people.
So, it's back to writing more content and working on gaining more organic traffic :)

It's cool to hear where people are at with the courses.

I joined sometime in early January, but I haven't finished the boot camp yet. I'm on lesson 5. Progress has been slow, but I'm not discouraged.

I found WA on January 30th. I am on Course 2, Lesson 5 and in Bootcamp Course 1, Lesson 8. I have not been able to be here daily like I quest for in the near future but, I am always making progress : ) (And, apologies if I spoke out of turn because you did ask for people who have fully completed bootcamp : )

Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to join the Bootcamp.

When you insert an image into your "about me" section, how do you ensure the text isn't right up on the image? I'm having a problem with it looking just fine in my edit mode, bu

I just found a method that will work. Move your cursor to the beginning of the word that is butting up against your image and click "enter". This will move it down to the next row and create a nice gap :)

Thanks, MarineMom, checking it out now.

Hi Abi, when you have inserted an image, you can adjust it the image by assigning an alignment type. The default alignment may do what you are experiencing. Are you doing that? What steps are you going through?

Thanks Iceskater, I can't seem to find the place to assign an alignment type. Where would I find this?

I see the alignment like, align left, right, center or justify. This isn't the problem. I need to create a gap that is more than one cursor space before the image starts and where the text ends next to it. I can't find the section to change this setting from 1 to say, 4.

Ahhhh, I've never had a need to change that...sorry. Good luck.

Ok thanks. Looking through the link sent earlier. Thanks guys. xx

The number of "searches" shown for each one column, is this total searches ever or per month? I found a great keyword phrase that shows roughly 300 searches, over 50 traffic and ex

it refers to monthly average searches

Awesome. Is between 300 and 400 monthly searches considered too low? Or is that more than enough for a niche site with low competition?

Basically, in my opinion, the number of searches doesn't matter much. What matters the most is your competition. Make sure you have low competition and everything will fall in its rightful place. Your goal is to make sales even if you having a traffic of just 5 people per month.

Aim to rank or be on the first page of google. Its much better that way

I have found a keyword phrase that seems to have only one as competition. I'm guessing this will be a great one to go with.

Yes its the best. The closer your competition is to zero the better

Abi, give this a watch - you want to watch out for SERP competition as well. You may have found a good one there, but just saying ... .

Awesome! Thanks!

I have no idea what SERP is, but I am sure the link you posted here will explain. Many thanks and gonna go watch it now.

Cool - it stands for search engine results page. Yup, the vid will explain everything.

Thanks Sean. Just a few minutes into this video and I have a question. It talks about the other pages ranking in the SERP results. According to the keyword tool here at WA, my competition is 1 for my particular keyword phrase. Do I need to be concerned about SERP competitors? The other page that is the one I'm speaking of isn't even about what my site will be about, so I don't know what this will mean. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Abi, to be honest it's difficult to say without specifics (and also I'm no expert lol), but I'm fairly sure that you're OK at this early stage. I don't think it's anything to be overly-concerned about at this point, just something to bear in mind.

From what I understand, even if there's only one page for your keyword, the sites on that one page could be big authority sites which *could* be really hard to rank against. That's the theory.

I would just go for it, it's probably nothing to be concerned about, and anyway, content is content so it can't hurt your site.

BTW, the search column in WA keyword tool reflects the total monthly searches, which was your original question.

Thanks Sean. This has a little over 300 monthly searches and just over 50 in traffic monthly. With one competition, it seems like a good one to go with. On another subject, I'm in the edit my webpage part of Bootcamp, and although I can see how to edit the text styles and background colour, I can't seem to find how to edit the font size. Any suggestions?

Yes, here's a suggestion: stop working so hard, you're making me look bad ;-). Just kidding.

To be honest, I don't know? I don't think you can adjust the font size, but you can upload a header image which you or someone else has designed.

Maybe someone with more knowledge about Wordpress can help you there. Try https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/welshy - he's very good at WP.

Thanks, my friend. Will check that out. I'm gonna head over to fiverr and have someone create me a logo as I have something specific in mind.

That's a good idea, some good designers on Fiverr. Hope it comes right there ...

Cheers m'dears. I have been at this all day so now I'm gonna go watch a movie I think lol. I will continue working on my site tonight or in the morning. Need to complete that part before I move on to the next Bootcamp lesson. Thank you so much for all your help.
