Comments Box Problems
CLASSROOMS
Being in an online learning environment, definitely has its advantages over a normal classroom, especially when it comes to making mistakes!
There is nobody to witness your embarrassment or to laugh at you, when a boo-boo is made !
SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS
I have been in this this situation, on quite a few occasions, more recently, when following the boot camp lessons on adding reviews to your site.
I had posted my review of the WA site and asked for feedback, only to be informed by a reviewer, that there was no comment box on my page for them to leave their thoughts.
YES, this was a time, I was happy not to be in a normal classroom !
I then began my search, on how to put a comment box Into any pages, where I did not have one.
I eventually found a solution thanks to the WA community, with support from, Bob Brooks, Rich Green and Vic10, many thanks.
Who knows how long it would have taken me, if I had not become a member of Wealthy Affiliates
SOLUTIONS ARE FOUND
If you type in, (putting comments boxes, into pages ) at the top of the Wealthy Affiliates web page, there are several posts to overcome this problem and there also appears to be more than one way to solve it.
Here are links,to ways of solving Comments Box problems. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-tu...

The current version of WordPress turned of comments by default. That may be what is causing the problems people are complaining about. Go here to get more information. https://make.wordpress.org/core/2015/07/06/comments-are-now-turned-off-on-pages-by-default/ The post involves coding and I have not figured out how to turn comments back on. The logic is that comments should only be on for routine posts. Turning them of on pages and custom posts will eliminate a lot of the problems with spambots. Personally, I am happy with that.
I hope someone can figure out how to turn comments on on pages because there is the rare time when I want people to be able to comment on a page. For now, if I want a comment I will link to my contact page.
Hi Bill,
good morning,
I had a look at the link you sent me,
I am sure it is something, I could use when I am more advanced .
As a newbie, the technical coding bit, is over my head at the moment, but i am sure it is a great help to others.
Bill, would it be OK for me to add and use the link in my comments post,to help anyone who is up to speed with coding, spam bots, etc
Thanks for your help,
best wishes,
Graham
You and me both. Use the link anyway you like. It is part of the WA official instructions. Main thing to know is the comment box went away because of a policy change at WP, not because of some problem on our side.
Thanks bill,
that's good to know and I will also add the link for others, much appreciated,
Have a great weekend,
Graham :-)
