Estimating Website Traffic and Revenue

Here is an example how you could estimate your yearly net revenue based on Google ranking.

The following chart is a breakdown of the expected yearly revenue based on the first 15 results in the Google page ranking.

*Percentage of traffic on average for that position in Google for the keyword(s)

**Traffic based on 8800 average monthly searches

***Number of sales based on a 2% conversion (sales)

****Based on $25 net revenue per unit sold

Sites in positions 1-3 on the first page of Google receive 61.5% of the traffic share

The first page of Google receives 90% of the traffic.

You can play around with the numbers to better fit your situation but the traffic by position should stay the same.

Based on your analysis you can determine whether or not the keywords you have picked and the affiliate offer will be profitable or not.

I hope that helps.

If anyone has any input on how to make this model better please let me know.

Thanks.

Thank you for this Aaron. xx

Thank you for the guidelines.

I would say that the last three or four columns are rather arbitrary. This is all niche dependent and far from reality. Cannot understand how they came to these data, they totally make no sense to me.

Of course they're arbitrary, but so what? It's just an example to illustrate how your position in the SERPs can affect your traffic and potential revenue.

I clearly state in the post that it all depends on your keyword(s).
