What makes a site eligible to be indexed?

make sure google knows about it -add your sitemap to search console....
try to request comments from here via the request comments thread - it goves you a backlink for google to know your site is there....
if you can get others to add links for your site on other sites...
make sure your articles are useful original content ....
you could read the search raters document to see what they are looking for - gives a good guideline for what google is looking for....
but it does take time....
make sure you have all the necessary pages - privacy policy, affiliate disclosure, about me on your site....with links to find them....
if you are vlogging i would use one of the video channels - youtube, vimeo or other to upload the video rather than directly on your site as videos are very bandwidth hungry and can be slow if running directly from your hosting....

Good afternoon,
I had created a new website with every intention to create videos on classic literature as I read them. However, I am finding I am very intimidated by the v
have you tried adding an image of a friend behind the camera and talking to them...
it is very difficult at the start to create videos....
you can jsut talk to the camera - then delete it...
then do it again...
and don't try to get perfect- you will never get it done...
if you look back at the first videos of most channels they are a lot rawer...
it is a shame that wa has removed the video training ability as this does really help....
you can try different styles - sitting with notes as well as having the book opened at a page and keep glancing at it ( you could have notes hidden in there - just the topics to cover)...
but good luck and keep trying.....
set a time a day to sit in front of the camera and create a 2 min video of anything - not for publication....
Thank you. I will try this. Iām not one for giving up but this is one thing Iām having a lot of trouble getting started on. I use Instagram to promote my other website but it is faceless videos. There are pictures of myself but no videos of me. Iām comfortable with that. But I will try this.
What is it that you are not comfortable with? You are in full control of your content that you build and publish to your website.
As you start to publish new content, you are going to gain more and more knowledge about your niche, and be in a better position to help them. ;)
I find it awkward filming myself talk. I see others and they seem so confident and donāt stumble over words and I canāt say that about myself.
Possibly don't post any video content at all. You could just post written content with several images for each post.
This is an idea and I have thought about it for sure. Like I thought about posting outlines to the chapter⦠kinda like a ācliff note ā website⦠which isnāt a bad idea but wasnāt the idea I started with.
There are also now an abundance of AI tools to help create video content if you considered the āfacelessā marketing route. This is becoming increasingly popular but again it will be a matter of taking the time and effort to learn this.
Hi Letina
We would need to understand what you find intimidating in order to offer alternative ideas. Are you able to tell us more?
;-)
Richard
I find it intimidating because I feel awkward in front of the camera. I didn't think I would be this unsure of myself
Thanks for clarifying, Letina.
Be assured you're not alone with that reaction.
As Phil Feigner hints, the thing is that you can create many videos, making them short, that you never show, It's a little like when a musician first performs on stage, it takes a while to get used to it.
An alternative could be like a podcast. Practice recording yourself reading to get started.
Also, your technical setup might make a difference. I.E. the positions of microphone, camera and reading materials are all important.
;-)

Hi Letina. Perhaps begin with faceless videos. Not all YouTube users watch videos. I'll have something playing while I'm walking the dogs, or tottering about in the garden, and sometimes I'll put a sleep video on with the audio coming through a Bluetooth headband. For classic literature, I'd imagine illustration videos would do well. I looked up to see if there were any animated videos around books and found a popular one called "Why you should read" series on the Ted-Ed channel.
So I checked out those videos! Visual and not with actual āface to cameraā talking.. thank you for sharing this information. š
