I just collected a check today from an offline marketing client. I wasn't planning on doing any kind of offline marketing, only online. Let me tell you the story.

A friend of mine has had his own network cabling business for over a dozen years. He has always tried to get me to work for him doing sales. Prior to retiring early this year I had been in sales (consultant, factory rep, manufacturers rep) for over 30 years. I always managed to resist his offers without jeopardizing our long friendship.

Two weeks ago he stopped by, wanting to talk. He had just started another business doing traffic barricades (he still has the cabling business). What a surprise......he wanted me to sell for his new business. This time I told him I'd think about it, since I have time now.

Fortunately I had been with WA for a few weeks and started learning about creating web sites and driving traffic to these sites. So I decided to check out my friend's site. What a disaster! The site has not been touched in over 8 years, everything was out of date and most of the links did not work. Plus he was starting another business and would need a site for it also.

Being a crafty entreprenuer, I decided to make him a proposal. I would update his old site, create a new site for his new business, and generate leads for both businesses. He liked the idea.

Now to the important part. I told him that this is easily worth $2,000.00 a month, and I expect to be paid that after he sees an increase in both businesses. But to start, I will only charge $500.00 a month.

He cut me a check within minutes.

Of course now I am very motivated to learn exactly how to do what I said I would do. Also now, I am getting paid to learn!!!

What did I do with my first $500.00 paycheck? I invested $299.00 in a one year membership just a few minutes ago. I've always been attracted to good investments.
