Where Do You Find.

The images you use for your WA posts??

Do you try to find them using the stock files already here, or do you find them from an alternative source, to download and save for later?

I usually try to find an image here first, before going elsewhere. Yet, unless I search while using Boolean terms, what I searched for is not exactly what appeared. Unfortunately, I should have written this blog post when I was having trouble finding that one image I wanted to use..them I would have had a relative example..

Of course, it can be compared to going to your car mechanic so they so they can try to figure out why the music in the (USB portal) will switch to car radio at the slightest motion, and revert back to the USB source, yet, when they test it, there is no problem. Ha! Next time, I will drive around the parking lot with them in the car to make my point...

But I digress....where do you find your images?
Specifically, for posting here!

Oh, hey, this is my first post of 2021!

Well, of course there are the public domain images we can get to here, and I do use those. But I had the good sense many years ago to fall in love with a good photographer, so I can use any of his photos. Some are just in our dropbox, others in his flickr account.

That's what I enjoy about being a photographer, too! If I need something, I shoot it....(here, snipe...grin.)

I tend to use the ones here Rudy, but I've thinking that they are all overused now.

I was thinking of using my new found photography skills form the course I'm doing to take nature photos or any pics, save them and download them to my library for my future use

Cool...what photography program are you taking?
And if you ever are in need of assistance, I also shoot product photography. I'm open to help anyone who wants to take better pictures...

Rudy

I've just started with iPhotography. Have you heard of them? I'm thinking of getting a better camera

No, I had not hear of them. I hadn't looked for any online photography classes for a while.

What are you looking to do with your photography?
I ask because you are thinking about getting a better camera. What kind of camera do you use now?

I am using finepix s8100 camera. I wanted a better one because this one is a bit old

The finepix camera is decent. All depends on what you want to with it.. what type of photography are you interested in?

I have the fuji X-E3. I've really had to study the manual to make it work well for me.? Not new to dslr, new to fuji.

I guess I have to study the manual in detail as well. I will let you know more

In the meantime, what kind of photography are you interested in?

I was just following the course. I personally am interested in taking nature pics- trees, sky, capture a moment with my kids playing, that sort of stuff

Cool....I take pictures of nature a lot. Sunsets I find more that sunrises, grin. Not usually awake then. I take pictures all of the time, when driving, etc. Never without a camera or my phone camera.

It's important to have a focus, so that you can learn from the course you are taking. You will learn more by being invested in the outcome.

I look forward to seeing some of your images!!

Yes. That's what I want. To take pics also and upload them to my library

Good! Good for you!!

Hi Rudy, congratulations to your first post for 2021. I get a lot of my images from Bing. Also if I remember right Chrystopher posted a link on free images. I shall try to find that. OK found it: Best wishes,
Michael

Thanks!

I don't have any problems with finding images, per se. Only here, when I try to find an image to fit my post.

Why do I have to go somewhere else to get an image, right?

Unless I bring one with me from my computer, I've got my own image junkyard....

Anyway, thanks for the link!

Rudy

Right on, Michael, although I haven't posted much on here I used images for my sites for those sources

Thanks to all who gave answered. Usually, I use my own, and have found a couple here that I've branded a bit, the one I've used with this post, and the shout out image with the kid shooting into an old microphone...grin.

I forgot I have an account with canva! I'm so old school sometimes as I use ms paint when composing images, adding text, even touch up.

Appreciate all of your comments.

Rudy

So very welcome Rudy.

I used to use images from here Rudy but now I use Canva Pro and create my own. It's better because then you don't see the same images on dozens of other posts on social media.
Plus you can resize the same picture you use as the featured image, for all the different platforms quickly and easily.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Linda! Appreciate the info.
