Another Year Older and Deeper in Mischief
He's Still Here
With the strength of a startled gazelle, I have once again managed to forage enough to get another year under my belt.
It is getting to the stage where I have become one of the survivors of my rapidly thinning crew of crustaceans. In my younger days we started out by calling ourselves "Gear Jokers" Incredibly cringe-able now looking back on it.
However, it was and is my life and I accept and own all of it . I think most of us when we get to "that certain age" accept who we are, warts and all. And reflecting on what we did when younger is a great trip.
The great thing in my life though, is where others stopped and grew up, I did not. It was starting to happen (Growing Up), then I ran away from home at 49 and got cancer at 55. I saw the light, truly. I saw the light and my grandfather telling me it is not my time yet.
Officially I died on the operating table but that is when I got my second wind. Considering I had cancer of the bowel and ended up with a colostomy bag for 3 months, I think 2nd wind is a pretty good pun. I have some amazing stories teaching with a colostomy bag to 6 and 7 year olds.
It might be dinner time so I won't go into "squeemish" details apart from the fact I caused one cleaner at a public school to instantly resign..lol.
But my life has been great and still is. I am in love and my wife loves me, so who can ask for more.
Yet I have more, with this fantastic community of like-minded entrepreneurs working towards goals that most people give up on when they are young.
So, I am looking forward to my birthday tomorrow.
I just had to help carrying in a cake and heard some muttering.
I believe I know what is going to happen!!
If I am even more obnoxious than I normally am tomorrow, I apologize in advance.
I do believe Dr Worm will be visiting at some stage and even though I try to keep that door closed, the sneaky bugger may find a way in. Lol.
Zoopie.
P.S. Oh yeh 65 is the magical figure, but I don't feel a day over a 100.

Should have known this was your post when I saw the headline...lol...
Congrats on remaining yet another year above ground. It's a worthy achievement. Keep your good attitude and you might get to be my age -- I turn 85 next month.
Go ahead -- be obnoxious -- then we knw you are still with us!
Hi, Steve
This is a hilarious post and an amazing survival story! I'm glad you made it through that ordeal.
Hahah, I'm not very grown up either, even at 68 years old! Who cares, really. I've had a tremendous amount of fun and helped thousands of people get well in the process.
NOW, as for your upcoming birthday and that locked-up man cave with the crazy awesome bar, I think something should be done about that immediately, if not sooner!
It's time to PARTY, baby!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and many more to come! ππππΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊ

Hi Stephen,
Happy 65th! For me, that seems so long ago now. May this be your best year ever!
I love your sense of humor and the fact you don't take yourself so seriously. That is one of the secrets to longevity. And fighting cancer like you have as well.
You are a survivor and my hat's off to you for that achievement.
I wish you all the very best in life.
Cheers.
Edwin
Thanks Edwin, I try to take life with a healthy dose of laughter.
