Has social media killed our art of real conversation?
Just a short one this evening. I whilst busy painting my hand made crafts today, I found myself thinking (like I do ) that as things have changed as in electrical items etc. Meant to make life better. And don't get me wrong I run my businesses 70 % roughly on line. Though what I feel it has taken away is face to face meet ups. Or phone calls. I won't go into detail though things have been extremely tough in my family of late. And whilst I'm not begging attention and sympathy. A nice little chat on the phone would be nice from time to time. Instead people seem to think by sending wattsapp messages or commenting on a post on a social media platform. Is talking and being supportinve. Which it can in some ways. Though let's not all loose the actually hearing one another's voice.
I just wondered what others thought of this topic. ?

Hi Zoe, I get exactly what you mean, i have to be honest, I have the exact same thought. and Ha ha i never think it applies to me. yes, a chat on the phone is a really good tonic, there is something about the sound of kindness.
I have a lot of family that live abroad, and so whats app and Facebook are a Godsend. Like you said real life meet up and conversation can't be beaten.
And yes I am gonna say it, its also an age thing. I was very proud of myself the other day for successfully managing to engage my 15 year old God son in conversation for 30 minutes without him once looking at his phone
Have a good one, and thanks for sharing this point, because I think its becoming a bit of an off subject.
Wow Nike you did well. That long with out a single glance for a teen is amazing.
With me it's my family I talk least with. Most live in the North while I live in the south. So Watt app and fb messanger seem to have taken over.
Thank you for your comment Hun xx
Yes, I know what you mean. No number of emoticons can replace hearing the genuine care in someone's voice :)
So true! My sentiments exactly! We no longer make the effort to meet and socialise on a face to face level. Our lives are so busy and sometimes so complicated we shift our priorities to what is most demanding in our lives.
