September Goals & an August Update
So if you've been following along, first of all, I'd like to say thank you. This community has given me so much courage and strength that I am forever grateful for. I came here extremely nervous and second guessing myself about 3 weeks ago. I'm still extremely nervous (one of anxiety's favorite gifts), but I don't feel so 'in the dark' anymore. I'm still learning, but it feels like I'm heading somewhere...just hope it's the right kind of somewhere.
Second, I have failed my August goal to launch by September. I was going through all of my posts and images and found that I wasn't happy enough with them. I think I was rushing myself too much to learn, build, write, and launch in 3 weeks. So I am giving myself another week to perfect and clean up what I already have done.
I hired two people from Fiverr to create my logo and both were strikingly dissatisfying. Considered hiring another to create a favicon and finally stopped myself from wasting more money. Today, I created my own logo using my own photography and a favicon. Surprised myself with how much photoshop I remember, so no more outsourcing!
I spent more time on my posts working with SEO (now that I understand it better) and have optimized a few without making it sound forced. I currently have 200+ post ideas to work with! Getting new ones every day as life goes on.
Adjusting the time frame has allowed me to focus on the quality of my efforts. I'm going to focus and do what I can do to make my content my best.
September 7th!!
September goals:
*Launch Blog
*Set-Up Relevant Affiliates
*Grow Pinterest Account
*Embrace Photography/Photoshop Again
*Fix SEO for All Posts
*Stop Panicking! (She said to her anxiety...)

Great to hear that you are feeling more confident. It's always good to polish your old posts as you learn more.
Well done.
Lily 😊
Thanks Lily!
It's definitely nice to feel more confident! It is hard to stick with something that you know so little about and I considered giving up before I even got started many times. But you won't get a different result by doing what you've always done.
I really appreciate your kind words and advice.
Thank you so much!
Having a goal is great... It gives us something to aim for.... So even if we don't completely hit all the points on the goal, we are so much further down the road towards achieving it... Like you have done, just reset and attack it again.
Glad you are here with us and I am sure that with the positive attitude you have shown you will get there...
Best wishes
Gaz
Thank you Gaz.
I was so disheartened at first about moving back my goal date. I beat myself up about it for a bit and considered staying up all night to make sure I made my deadline...and then I noticed that it has stopped being fun. I made it into another miserable, stressful job. It was hard to admit that my time frame needed to be pushed back a bit, but I really think it helped my content and well...me.
Like you said, reset and attack again.
I appreciate your kind words. Might be a week late, but I'll definitely get there!
I wish you the best as well.
Well done on sharing your goals here today.
Having your goals down on paper can achieve great things, a study was done and showed that people who write their goals down more than likely achieve them or get very close to achieving them.
Keep up the good progress.
Darren :)
Hi Darren.
Thank you very much.
I think writing down your goals is very important too. I have a lot more that I keep in my head, but they're not the same as the ones that get written down. Like they're still in the planning stage rather than the doing stage. Seeing them and letting other people see them is what makes them real.
I appreciate your encouragement. =) Thanks for reading!
This is great! So smart of you to share your goals on an ongoing basis, because it helps keep you accountable to yourself, and you'll keep making big progress this way.
You are also inspiring your readers (including me!) to get more organized and set better goals, thanks to your example.
I look forward to reading more about your work!
Kate
Thanks Kate!
I certainly hope it helps and keeps me focused on my goals. I'd hate to write October's goals and have them look just like this one.
Organization has definitely become my "thing" since my son was born. Without planning, I don't think I would get very far...literally. I think most people associate organizing with extreme organizing and I don't have time for that. Really, you just have to find ways to optimize your time. For example, I use Google Docs to keep track of my ideas and write on because I can access it from my phone, computer, work Mac, etc.
I hope you are able to organize and create more goals for yourself. I look forward to seeing you progress further. =)
I love how organized you are. :) I love you are being resilient and finding your own solutions. You will be fine. :D Good job! Paula
Hi Paula.
Thank you very much. My blog is a lifestyle blog for busy parents. I really want to help people with hectic lives find ways to optimize their time and build their family relationships. I was a single Mom for seven years and it was incredibly hard and lonely. Being organized kind of came with everything else.
I really appreciate your kind words of encouragement. It means a lot to me. =)
Oh it's my pleasure. I was a single om of 3 for most of their growing up lives. It's not easy but it is rewarding. :) Paula
I only have the one for now and luckily, I found a good man who was happy to step up and be there for my son. It took a long time to adjust to that too. I'd definitely do it all over again for my guys though. My ex left me the day we found out I was pregnant after dating 4 years. It's been tough, but look at what I got out of the deal! =)
Single parenting is so difficult some times, but the love you get in return makes it worthwhile. Takes a strong person to do it on their own.
Thanks Mickey!
I certainly hope so. I've been doing so much for this that I think I am just getting impatient. Like I told Jim though, I had to push back my goal for quality. It was hard to tell myself this, but needed to be done.
Thanks for your encouragement!
You are more organized than me for sure. Have a great September and I am sure you will hit all your goals.
Mark
Haha! Thanks Mark.
I hope I seem organized. My blog is a lifestyle blog for busy parents with quick recipes and tips for optimizing time and maintaining a family relationship. Organization is definitely an important key. (Which is ironic because I can never find my keys.)
I hope you have a great September as well and we both achieve what we have set out to do this month.
I appreciate your comment. =)
Sounds like you're moving along nicely. Most of us suffer from either some sort of anxiety , or a feeling of being overwhelmed at times. Keep strong and stay focused and you will succeed . Jim
Hi Jim.
I'm certainly trying to move along nicely. Feels more like a zig-zag than anything else, but still counts!
I've had anxiety for years and just cope with it. It has saved me from doing a lot of really dumb things, but at the same time, likes to inhibit good things from happening too. It's more like an annoying friend at this point. Haha!
Thank you very much for your encouragement. I really appreciate it. It was hard to move my goal back, but I think it's going to make a big difference in the quality.
Thanks again!

200 post ideas! Great! Excellent planning and it augurs well for your success....Richard
Thanks Richard!
It helps to be creating a lifestyle blog about my own kind of lifestyle. As things happen or get planned, I can just jot them down and later think about how I can use it to help my readers.
I appreciate your encouragement. Hopefully something I am doing now will help me in the future.
Thank you again so much!
