I live in Singapore but lately, I have made a number of trips to Melbourne, Australia as our only daughter, Syaza, is studying in Monash University. The main reason I'm in Melbourne is to be a motivator to Syaza - being away from home and having to juggle college life proved stressful at times.
I resigned from my full-time job (note : I never use the word 'career' cos never had one) back in 2005. Between then and now, I was doing part-time in a couple of companies.
I had thought of going back working full-time but honestly, I am never ready to commit to this. I am not ready to lose the flexibility of time, the ability to do what I want, whenever I want.
Most important, I am never ready to going back working for others, in meaningless menial jobs that others seem to think important.
Some people say money shouldn't be the only motivation. To me, it's a means to do more meaningful things, helping those less fortunate than I am, travelling the world and getting out of my comfort zone.
This is a journey, full of excitement.
WA is about having a supportive community while you're on that journey.
