FIRST Amazon Sale! - And I didn't even notice.
Earlier today Jessica posted a blog post about her getting her first Amazon sale.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/swangirl/blog/my-f...
She mentioned that she got her first sale AND she got an email congratulating her on being accepted into Amazon Associates which was weird for me because I thought you're already an associate when you get access to the referral links/images to add to your site.
I remember I got one of these emails a few days ago and because I assumed I was already accepted and the email just contained links on how to insert products on your site (which I already did and know how to do), I just ignored it. I only have a few posts with Amazon links on them so I didn't think much of it and rarely check my account....until NOW!
Turns out they send that email when you get your first sale. I guess that officially means you're part of the program. I just checked my account and saw that I actually made a sale 2 days ago!
It's not much, earnings of $1.78, but this again proves that it works. Looking at the report, the person bought a bunch of household goods which is TOTALLY unrelated to my niche. My niche is earthquake preparedness and I was promoting earthquake kits from Amazon but I guess the cookie stuck around long enough for their unrelated purchase to be referred by me! YAY! So those of you who get that congratulations email, go check your account RIGHT AWAY! You got your FIRST SALE!!!Thanks everyone for their support

well done andy, proves what i have been trying to tell my friends - click through an amazon affiliate link before you search on amazon for what you want. you then get the commision for 24 hour whatever they buy.
keep up the good work

Yeah, as long as it's your friends who are going through your link. I think it's against the terms of service if you purchase something from your own link.
Way to go Andy! I did not get there just yet, but I am planning to do so...just a little question, what did you sale?
Well on my blog I did a review for earthquake kits and I have some other Amazon links on some other pages talking about what you need in an earthquake kit. Apparently someone clicked on one of those links which tracked my referral. They didn't even buy anything related to earthquakes, they ended up buying a bunch of household items. You can see what they bought in the image on this post. It's a bunch of cereal, shampoo, snacks, etc. I believe even if they don't buy the product you linked to, if they buy ANYTHING within 24 hours then you get credit, which was the case here.
Yay! :D
Congrats for a new milestone, that earning marks the start of yet another path to reaching your online success!
Ps. It is the best things in life that we often overlook and take for granted, so make sure you don't miss anything out. Kudos and keep going always! :)

Congratulations! As far as I know Amazon waits until you make a sale and then goes to your website and reviews it to decide whether they will accept you. I have heard of people who made a sale and then Amazon denied them! They had to reapply. So its a good sign that you got approved!
Thanks for the mention!
Oh I didn't know that. That would be such a bad feeling, getting a sale and then getting denied like that.
If it weren't for your blog post earlier, I wouldn't have even checked and found out i made a sale! So I had to mention you =)
