4 Months at WA! 2 More Sales! YIPPEEEE!

So today marks my 4 months here at WA. Boy, time does fly by FAST. It's been a productive month but not as productive as I'd like as I'm still battling the dreaded bed bug problem I mentioned in my previous update. Feels like I'm starting to finally win the battle as I'm not getting as many bites anymore as we're steaming and cleaning every week so hopefully we're killing them and their eggs in the process. I just hope that we'll be completely bed bug-free soon as it's caused both my wife and I a lot of stress.

Anyway, back to WA. I did cut down the number of posts I did each week for both my niche and affiliate site as I felt pretty overwhelmed with trying to write 5 articles combined each week for both the sites (especially since a lot of my time is spend battling bed bugs). I do have a full-time job so that does get in the way as well. I've also taken on some freelance web development work for a local logistics company which has brought in $500 this month so that's been keeping me busy.

2 More Sales!!!

I am EXCITED to say though that I got 2 more sales on Amazon!!! I don't check my account that often because I don't get that many clicks so I don't expect any conversions but when I checked the other day I was happily surprised to see 2 sales within a 3 day period!

My first 2 previous sales were totally unrelated to what I was promoting. They ended up purchasing household goods like laundry detergent and snacks. This time it looks like they did purchase one of the products I was promoting (the Emergency food rations) so I'm glad to see it working.

Another great thing is that I'm VERY close to getting my referral rate bumped up another 2% to 6% commission! Just have to sell ONE more item! 2% might not look like much but that's actually a 50% increase from the 4% I'm getting now so I'm pretty excited. Hopefully I'll get that upgrade this month.

Twitter is still awesome!

Still trying to get more traffic to my site. Writing content and following instructions but it seems hard to get ranked high in search engines. Maybe it just takes time so I've been using social media, in particular Twitter, to get more traffic to my site and it's been working pretty good for me. I was able to reach over 2000 Twitter followers this month and am currently at around 2120 and it's steadily growing. That's withing a 3 month period! I didn't start Twitter until I went through the training and got my site up so even though I've been at WA for 4 months I haven't been using Twitter as long.

Ultimate Guide on How to Use Twitter

Launched it about 2 weeks ago and I've been getting great feedback. Please check it out if you have time because I broke down the training in sections so you'll start at the beginning by learning how to create your account and work your way up to advanced techniques that I've been using to quickly grow my followers. I also have some tips and refer to some very useful tools that I use to help automate and manage Twitter so I don't have to be sitting in front of the computer all day, because, who has time for that?

You can ask me questions there and I'll be sure to respond back. Would appreciate a review when you're finished the course so I know whether you liked it or not and how I can improve things. This is my first training after all and I can't get it perfect the first time but I'll learn from this and make the next one even better!.

Other Accomplishments

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I actually had my first Jaaxy trial! I had an email notifying me of this and I was so happy! Unfortunately they didn't seem to convert but hey, it's a start!

Got some guest posts going and received an excellent guest post that I used on my site. I love guest posts because I don't have to spend the time to write them myself! Of course you don't want you site to be flooded with guest posts (I only have 1 so far), but it's a great way to get more content and if you write guest posts for others, usually they'll allow you to add a link back to your site so you can get some extra traffic.

I haven't set a goal for WA followers because it doesn't really mean anything but my followers have been steadily rising and currently I have over 6,400 followers! Thank you all for following me. Really appreciate it! Seems like the number of new members are rising everyday as well so the community is growing. I noticed because I add every single new member that joins everyday and I think it's well over 100 each day so you all are doing a good job promoting WA since it's a great product. Hopefully they'll convert for you too!

Goals

Some goals I didn't achieve this month:

• reach top 50 WA rank (currently 56) - hovered around 54 to 52 but dropped back down but I'm happy where I am
• didn't finish the Bootcamp but am on my way there - on Course 6 talking about PPC but I don't think I'm ready for that yet
• haven't got a WA referral yet but still trying
• didn't get 50 hits average per day (still getting around 30 so close to 1,000 a month)

Goals for next month:

• get in the top 50 WA rank
• get fifth Amazon sale and get my commission raised another 2%!
• get 1 WA referral
• get rid of the damn bed bugs!

Final Thoughts

Overall another great month. Still gotta get rid of the damn bed bugs but I'm happy to see 2 more sales this month so this proves that this works! Just have to stay on course and keep creating good content so I can get my pages ranked higher and get more traffic.

I did post a question the other day about what other methods (other than SEO and social media) are you using to gain traffic, but didn't get that many answers. Got a lot of interest, because everyone wants more traffic so I'm sure everyone wants to learn, but not many responses on what other ways you are doing this. I know content is king and we should all focus on just writing good content to get our sites ranked but I'm sure there are other ways to get traffic as well so I'd like to learn. Feel free to mention some of your techniques below and share with others.
